Đây là một nhiệm vụ cần thiết trong các chương trình cải thiện giống cây rừng, giúp chúng ta đánh giá, phân tích, cân nhắc kỹ lưỡng và phê duyệt lại chương trình. Khuyến cáo rằng đánh giá cho chương trình này nên được thực hiện vào năm 2009. Các đánh giá sau này nên được tiến hành ít nhất 2-3 năm một lần.
