Heart failure is a complex clinical syndrome resulting from damage or dysfunction of the heart that causes the ventricles not to receive (diastolic heart failure) or eject blood (systolic heart). Many studies have shown that cardiac resynchronization (CRT) improves heart function, prognosis, and quality of life in heart failure patients with cardiac dyssynchrony. However, 30% of patients still do not respond to CRT, and heart failure conditions do not improve. The study also shows that the leading cause of patients not responding to CRT is the atrioventricular conduction interval not being optimized, accounting for 47%. Therefore, the atrioventricular conduction interval optimization is a simple but essential and widely applicable method to increase the CRT response rate.
At Cho Ray Hospital, CRT has been implemented since 2008. However, research on CRT and research on optimizing atrioventricular conduction interval in our country is still limited. Therefore, to contribute to an objective assessment of the correlation and accuracy of the methods to optimize atrioventricular conduction intervals in patients with CRT, thereby helping clinicians to select doppler echocardiogram as a method for optimization and maximizing the effectiveness of heart failure treatment, we conducted the research:
