5.2 Hạn chế và hướng nghiên cứu tương lai:
Ngoài những thông tin quan trọng đã nêu ở trên, nghiên cứu này giới hạn trong vài phương diện. Đầu tiên dữ liệu điều tra về IMR chỉ có trong 6 năm từ những năm 1980. Số mẫu khảo sát thấp nên không cho phép thấy nhiều biến động trong biến chính này. Thứ hai, dữ liệu trình độ học vấn của phụ nữ không có, đây là hạn chế cho việc kết luận tác động của học vấn đối với phụ nữ mang thai lên IMRs. Cuối cùng phân cấp tài khóa được đo lường ở khía cạnh chi tiêu chỉ ở mức độ tổng hợp mà không tính toán đến tác động có thể có từ cơ cấu tổng thu và cơ cấu chi tiêu
Cân nhắc những giới hạn trên, chúng tôi đề nghị những phân tích nghiên cứu xa hơn gồm chỉ số của kết quả y tế như là tỷ lệ tử vong của trẻ em dưới 5 tuổi, tỷ lệ tử vong của mẹ và tuổi thọ và khám phá những tác động khác của cơ cấu tổng thu tài chính và cơ cấu tổng chi ngân sách trên các kết quả chăm sóc y tế.
