If a student misses the midterm or final examinationtheymaytakethemidtermorfinalexaminationinanothersectionofChem63thatistaking the midterm or final examination. If a student has an excusable reason for missing a midterm or final examinationamakeupmidtermorfinalexaminationcanbegiven.If,however,astudentmissestakinga midterm or final exam, during the exam times when it is given, then a grade of zero will be given if a student has no excusedabsencefor missingthemidt ermorfinalexam.Foranabsencetobeconsidered excusable, thestudent must providethelaboratoryinstructorwithawritt endocumentednote,explaining thereasonfortheabsence;whereupon,theinstructorwillnotifythestudentwhetherornottheabsenceis consideredexcusable.Themidtermorfinalexaminationcannotbegiventoastudentthatcomesintoclass after another student has already finishedand left the exam room. These same prelaboratory questions will also be handed in with the rest of the laboratory report and will be graded. Laboratory reports are due the laboratory period after a lab isscheduledfor completion.Chem63laboratoryinstructors willinitialthe datasheetsforthelaboratoryreportsattheendofthelaboratoryperiod.Theseoriginaldatasheetsareto be turned in as part of the student’s laboratory report. The complete laboratory report includes the prelaboratory questions and the original laboratory report sheets.
