Why? Why is it that to participate in the Eucharist (First Communion) before receiving the sacrament of Confirmation can be considered an “anomaly” or questionable? Consider the theology of Confirmaiton Based on what we discussed, what has to be the proper order of receiving the sacrament/s of Christian initiation: Baptism-ConfirmationEucharist or Baptism- Eucharist-Confirmation? What are some possible pastoral implications of each “order”? How does it affect the participation of the faithful in the celebration and living out of the sacrament/s? Consider the administration of the sacrament to children and adult To explain: “Be what you see and receive who you are.” [Saint Augustine] Is it necessary to receive the Sacrament of Confirmation before the celebration of the Sacrament of Marriage? Can “any person” administer the Sacrament of Baptism?
