WRITING ENTRY A Proposal Report PROPOSAL FOR THE LOCATION OF THE COMPANY’S NEW COFFEE AREA Introduction The company’s social committee has to get ahead to investigate two comparatively ideal locations that help staff unwind and chat after stressful work time in 9-to-5 office jobs The purpose of this proposal is to discuss some main differences between two possible options: an unused storeroom and an unused office Location According to previous surveys on the opinions of all company employees, both the storeroom and the office were voted as convenient locations The storeroom is located in the heart of the company where employees can conveniently return to their workrooms as quickly as possible, and it also shows that the company attaches great importance to both the physical and mental well-being of its employees On the other hand, the office is an uncomfortable location because it is located next to the management's room, which would not be comfortable for the staff wanting to have personal conversations as well as may make noise and annoy the management However, the office is more spacious than the storeroom The office is about 50 square meters, enough for about 50 to 55 people, so this provides us with flexibility and convenience Meanwhile, the storeroom is only 35 square meters wide, suitable for about 35-40 people Facilities The storeroom already has running water, which all employees require installing an espresso machine and water cooker, while the office doesn't have it The office has many glass windows in availability which are useful for gaining lots of natural light The storeroom has no windows, meanwhile, some employees want to have natural light The best solution to this is to create a "skylight" on the ceiling of the storeroom Cost Both locations need to be invested in an espresso machine and water cooker The office needed to buy more tables and chairs, and a running water system, estimated at 500 dollars Conversely, the renovation of the storeroom would be more economical, around 300 dollars, including skylight creation I suggest that we choose a location that costs less and invests a large enough amount to buy an espresso machine, water cooker as employees' expectations Conclusion The storeroom is smaller than the office and has no windows, it is fully equipped and conveniently located Therefore, I recommend choosing the storeroom to create a comfortable rest for employees and reduce management costs
