BreezeMex is a Mexican company that specializes in the construction of offshore wind power farms. Recently, they won a contract to develop a wind farm in Bristol, UK. The project is expected to last for two years. Like other international contracts, BreezeMex will send a team of 3 Senior Engineers from Mexico. These engineers have the following goals: • 1. To ensure that the project is implemented within a predetermined amount of time and budget • 2. Managing workers are local workers. The selection process for this project has been completed and a team of three engineers has been identified. These are as follows: Rafael – is a thirtyeight year old engineer with over ten years’ experience of working for BreezeMex. He has already worked on other international assignments; however, these assignments have only been within South America. He is married with two young children and Rafael’s wife runs her own company in Mexico City. Rafael’s family do not plan to accompany him on the assignment. Rafael studied English as a compulsory subject at high school and, later, at university but has not used his English for more than a decade. He has already expressed his worries about being able to communicate in English.
