About This Chapter
When the installation is well prepared, install the cabinet. There are three modes
for installingthecabinet according to thefloor of the equipment room.
Installation onthe antistatic floor (refer to Chapter 3 "Installing acabineton
the antistatic floor")
Installation onthecement floor
Installation onthe wooden floor (the same as the installation onthecement
floor)
This chapter guides you to install thecabinetonthecement floor. We recommend
reading OptiX OSN 3500 Intelligent Optical Transmission System Compliance
and Safety Manual. This helps you to ensure a safe and smooth installation.
The following table lists the contents of this chapter.

4.2 Positioning the Cabinet
This section describes how to position thecabinetonthecement floor. The
position varies with the number of cabinets and their layout.
4.2.1 Positioning aCabinet Independently
Purpose
This procedure guides you to position acabinet which is
installed independently.
Tools /Materials
Pencil
Ruler
Prerequisites
The cabinet and the accessories (including the support and
fixing pieces) have been transported to the site.
Required/As needed
Required if thecabinet is installed independently.
Caution
Read technical documents on construction before you mark the installation
position for the cabinet.
Step 1 Mark the reference point for installingthecabinet according to the construction
documents.
Step 2 Draw a 600 mm x 300 mm rectangle according to the reference point, and then
mark the central lines for the cabinet. See Figure 1.1.

4.2.2 Positioning aCabinet Close to an Installed Cabinet
Purpose
This procedure guides you to position acabinet close to an
installed cabinet.
Tools /Materials
Pencil
Ruler
Plummet
Prerequisites
The cabinet and the accessories (including the support and
fixing pieces) have been transported to the site.
Required/As needed
Required if thecabinet is installed close to an installed
cabinet.
Step 1 Use a plummet to determine and mark the side projective position of thecabinet
already installed.
Step 2 Draw the side outline for thecabinet to be installed according to the marks made
in step 1.
Step 3 Draw the front outline for thecabinet to be installed, according to the front outline
of thecabinet already installed. Then determine the installation reference point.
Step 4 Draw a 600 mm x 300 mm rectangle according to the installation reference point.
Then draw the central lines for the cabinet. See Figure 1.1.
