(1)Week : Period: Date of preparation: 12/09/2011 Date of teaching: 15/09/2011 UNIT 2: CLOTHING LESSON 1: GETTING STARTED LISTEN AND READ I OBJECTIVES: - By the end of the lesson , Ss will be able to talk about “Ao dai”, the traditional Vietnamse cothing - Educate Ss to respect the Vietnamse traditional clothing and get knowledge of other countries traditional clothings II PREPARATIONS: Textbook, sub-board III PROCEDURES: TEACHER/S ACTIVITIES / Warm-up : (8’) Guessing game - Have Ss look at some tranditional clothes and say the name of the coutries clothes countries Sari a Scotland Kimono b Japan Kilt c Arabia Veil d India Ao dai e Vietnam Jeans f USA SS/ ACTIVITIES - Look at the pictures and say - Listen - Lead to the new lesson 2/ Presentation: (15’)  Activity 1: - Ask Ss to look at the picture and answer the - Observe, and answer questions Who often wear Ao dai? Do men wear Ao dai?When? Is Ao dai now different from the one in the past?  Activity 2: Pre-teach vocabulary - Look at the pictures and guess - Use pictures to introduce the words meaning I New words: Poet- poem- poetry (n) inspration(n) unique(a) material(n) design (v)- designer (n) occasion(n) slit (n) minority(n) (2) - Check vocabulary: R.O.R 3/ Practice: (15’)  Activity 1: - Have Ss listen to the text twice - Have Ss read the text and complete the sentences poems,novels,and songs a long silk tunic with slits up the sides worn over loose pants to wear modern clothing at work lines of poetry on it symbols:sun,stars,crosses and stripes - Call Ss to check  Activity 2: - Have Ss read the text again and answer the questions(p14) Tranditionally,men and women used to wear Ao dai Because it is convenient They’ve printed lines of poetry on it or have added symbols 4/ Production: (5’) - Have Ss talk with their partner about a question: Do you like wearing Ao dai?Why ?(Why not?) 5/ Homework: (2’) - Have Ss: + Rewrite the answer in notebook + Prepare “Speak” - Listen carefully - Work in pair - Present result - Work in group - Work in pair - Write assignments IV COMMENT: (3) Week : Period: Date of preparation: 10/09/2011 Date of teaching: 12/09/2011 UNIT 2: CLOTHING LESSON 2: SPEAK I OBJECTIVES: - By the end of the lesson , Ss will be able to express their interests in clothing, and choose suitable clothes for themselves - Develop speaking skill II PREPARATIONS: Textbook, pictures III PROCEDURES: TEACHER/S ACTIVITIES / Warm-up : (8’) - Have Ss list some kind of clothes they know Ao dai SS/ ACTIVITIES - Work in group CLOTHES dress trousers 2/ Pre-speaking: (15’)  Activity 1: - Use the pictures(p14.15) to introduce some clothes - Elicit new words I New words: Adj - Pay attention - Look at the pictures and gess the meaning - Take note - Practice the newwords Noun (4) colorful plaid sleeveless short-sleeved plain baggy faded striped T-shirt skirt sweater blouse suit pants jeans shirt  Activity - Have Ss look at the pictures and match with the phrases 3/ While-speaking: (15’) - Have Ss complete the table Questions You Your partner What you usually wear on the weekend? Do you like wearing uniform? Why? What kind of clothing you want to wear on Christmas Day? - Call some pairs to present 4/ Post-speaking: (5’) - Have Ss report their survey Ex:Tuan said he liked wearing jeans on the weekend 5/ Homework: (2’) - Have Ss + Answer the question in notebook What is your favorite type of clothing? + Prepare the next lesson “Listen” - Look at the pictures and match * Key:a 1,b 5, c 6,d 3,e ,f 4, g 7, h 2, I - Complete the table in pair - Report - Report - Write assignment IV COMMENT: (5)
