Definitely I think reading is possibly the most important skill that children should learn A child reading on a regular basis can be keenly aware of various issues in society such as pollution, gender equality and the like, as well as people’s attitudes towards those issues He would grow up, having his critical thinking sharpened Besides, the ability to read opens the door to all aspects of education - on a regular basis (adv): thường xuyên keenly aware of something /əˈweər/ (adjective phrase): nhận thức rõ Are there any occasions when reading at speed is a useful skill? Actually, I don’t like the idea of reading fast I mean it takes time for me to digest information in a book However, I believe that skimming skills really come in handy in some ways For example, in the IELTS reading test, we don’t have much time to go through every word slowly Reading at speed helps us find out key information as fast as possible and finish the tasks in the given time - digest something /daɪˈdʒest/ (verb): hiểu rõ come in handy (idiom): có ích go through something (phrasal verb): nhìn, kiểm tra cẩn thận Are there any jobs where people need to read a lot? I believe any professionals who need to be constantly aware of current affairs such as politicians or journalists need to a lot of reading Besides, researchers obviously have to read a lot Having said that, I think most office workers need to sit in front of a computer screen and read email all day long - current affairs /ˌkʌr.ənt əˈfeəz/ (noun phrase): thời Do you think that reading novels is more interesting than reading factual books? I don’t think so Personally, I will gravitate towards novels because they can transport me to another world where the characters become almost real This kind of book can really boost my creativity and imagination But some others may not be on the same wavelength as me as they believe factual books give them insights into a factual subject It’s hard to decide on which one is more fascinating than the other It all boils down to each person’s taste + Khóa học IELTS Online: https://online.ielts-thanhloan.com/ + Sách học IELTS: https://ielts-thanhloan.com/danh-muc/sach-ielts-thanh-loan-viet + Fanpage với tài liệu hay: https://www.facebook.com/IELTSThanhLoan - gravitate towards something /ˈɡrævɪteɪt/ (verb): thiên on the same wavelength /ˈweɪv.leŋθ/ (idiom): hợp, quan điểm give somebody insights into something /ˈɪn.saɪt/ (verb phrase): khiến hiểu rõ boil down to something (phrasal verb): là, Do you think people now read less as compared to those in the past? No, I don’t think so Many people think that humans read less when seeing the decrease in the number of visitors to libraries, the increasing number of couch potatoes and the like But, in fact, we still read as much as we used to in former days, I suppose With the advent of the Internet, now we are increasingly turning to ebooks, online articles or audiobooks I mean the way we read has changed but our habit of reading hasn’t - couch potato /ˈkaʊtʃ pəˌteɪ.təʊ/ (noun): người lười hay nằm chỗ xem TV with the advent of something /ˈæd.vent/ (adv): với đời, xuất Source: Cuốn Câu hỏi Bài mẫu IELTS Speaking part theo chủ đề + Khóa học IELTS Online: https://online.ielts-thanhloan.com/ + Sách học IELTS: https://ielts-thanhloan.com/danh-muc/sach-ielts-thanh-loan-viet + Fanpage với tài liệu hay: https://www.facebook.com/IELTSThanhLoan SPEAKING TEST Part – Social media Q Which social media websites you use? [Why?] Answer: There are a few social media websites, I use, which include sites like Facebook, Twitter, Instagram, Pinterest and Linkedin I use these websites, mainly to remain connected with my friends, families and office colleagues as well as the issues that are affecting our world around us on a daily basis They also allow me to maintain personal and professional relationship both with friends and colleagues Q How much time you spend on social media sites? [Why/Why not?] Answer: I must admit that I am a busy person with my job and with other priorities, and therefore, I don’t really get to spend as much time to spend on social media sites as I would really like to Still, I would say that I spend at least 30 to 40 minutes a day to see what my friends and others are doing through their online posts, follow the latest trends in life, health and fashion so that I can relax a little outside of my work life Once in a while, I also update my status, write or share a new post, and upload a worth sharing picture Q What kind of information about yourself have you put on social media? [Why?] Answer: To tell the truth, it depends on what kinds of social media I am talking about unless they all share personal data of their users, which would not be too surprising! I believe, on platforms like Facebook and Twitter, I have put information like my address, job, interests, (ie my hobbies and places I like to travel and so forth) and major events of my life On sites like “LinkedIn”, which is more of a professional networking site), I've mostly put my educational and professional qualifications, skills and expertise Q Is there anything you don't like about social media? [Why?] Answer: Well, to be honest, privacy concerns and how our personal data are being used for the benefits of large corporations or political parties are two major concerns about social media And, we should not share sensitive data online, be it social media or other places, to be on the safe side On a positive note, social media websites are able to bring people together from all around the world to exchange their views and + Khóa học IELTS Online: https://online.ielts-thanhloan.com/ + Sách học IELTS: https://ielts-thanhloan.com/danh-muc/sach-ielts-thanh-loan-viet + Fanpage với tài liệu hay: https://www.facebook.com/IELTSThanhLoan opinions on different issues, and they are useful So we should be wise to take advantages of it and be careful about its dark side Source: https://www.ielts-mentor.com/ Part – Describe something you bought for your home You should say:  what you bought  when and where you bought it  why you chose this particular thing  and explain why you liked it so much Model Answer: I have never really been much of a person who cares what a home needs, and what it doesn’t In fact, I leave those matters to the ladies of my home - ladies like my mother, sisters or sisters-in-law, except on some rare occasions Today, I would like to talk about one such occasion when I really liked something and bought it, when I travelled to one of the tourist cities in my country about a couple of years ago The thing, I bought, was a piece of beautiful artwork By the way, I travelled to the tourist city because I wanted to see my ailing aunt whom I hadn’t seen in a long time But, even though, I went to see my aunt, I just didn’t want to let the opportunity pass by to visit some beautiful spots in that city, along with some very popular souvenir shops, which attracted many tourists not only from the local population but also tourists from abroad Anyway, after entering one such souvenir shop, my eyes got stuck on two beautiful paintings One of the artworks was of a herd of deer, feeding themselves in a very relaxed mood near a mountain site The subject of the other painting was a very beautiful sunset, overseeing the calm, blue water of an ocean, and some beautiful looking maple trees on the seashore The artwork also contained the pictures of some flying birds which were seen to be racing the waves of the ocean Needless to say, I liked both the artworks, but finally decided to buy the one with the beautiful sunset because I thought that it would perfectly match the interior painting of the living room of my home + Khóa học IELTS Online: https://online.ielts-thanhloan.com/ + Sách học IELTS: https://ielts-thanhloan.com/danh-muc/sach-ielts-thanh-loan-viet + Fanpage với tài liệu hay: https://www.facebook.com/IELTSThanhLoan Anyway, I liked the artwork so much because it portrayed nature in such a beautiful manner I liked it especially because of its extraordinary depiction of light and colour combination Besides, I liked it so much also because the sunset was presented in a very dramatic fashion as if it was trying to renew its friendship with the ocean after a bumpy relationship between the two Source: https://www.ielts-mentor.com/ Part – House How easy is it to find a place to live in your country? Well, it depends on how much money you are able to spend and where exactly you want to live Of course, if you have the money, it’s not something tricky to find a place to live no matter where you are In Vietnam, housing in rural areas is inexpensive, but it’s not the case in the city where house prices have been dramatically rising recently, and it is becoming difficult for young adults to buy their first house - tricky (adj): khó khăn inexpensive (adj): khơng đắt dramatically (adv): nhanh chóng mặt What options are available to young couples looking for accommodation in your country? As far as I’m concerned, living in an apartment is now the pattern among youngsters in Vietnam But for the most part, they just can afford to live in rented accommodation because the price of an apartment is usually well beyond their budget, let alone that of a house - beyond one’s budget: vượt ngân sách let alone (idiom): chưa nói đến, hồ Do you think it's better to rent or to buy a place to live in? Well, I must say having our own house is so much better than renting one What really matters is whether we can afford it or not On the one hand, owning a house is important to have a stable life, I suppose Besides, in Vietnam, the price of property has been on the rise in recent years and shown no signs of reduction That’s why I believe purchasing a piece of land and constructing a house on it is a good investment - stable (adj): ổn định on the rise: tăng + Khóa học IELTS Online: https://online.ielts-thanhloan.com/ + Sách học IELTS: https://ielts-thanhloan.com/danh-muc/sach-ielts-thanh-loan-viet + Fanpage với tài liệu hay: https://www.facebook.com/IELTSThanhLoan Do you agree that there is a right age for young adults to stop living with their parents? No, I don't agree that there should be a particular age for young adults to leave their parents It all depends on the situation of each family Some people choose to leave home early in order to become independent and pursue their goals whereas some others choose to stay with their parents so as to take care of their families or to reduce expenses on rent because housing is incredibly expensive right now That's the reason why I think there's no ideal age for leaving the original family - pursue something (verb): theo đuổi incredibly (adv): What are some of the pleasures involved in making a home for ourselves? Well, I believe that making our own home has its own merits It means that we could whatever we like For example, by buying an old house and doing it up, we can design its layout at will and decorate it with whatever we want The house may not be the most beautiful in the eyes of others, but certainly the most beautiful in our eyes That is enough - merit (noun): lợi ích up something (phrasal verb): tân trang (một nhà cũ) What are some of the housing problems that exist in your city? One of the most alarming problems with regard to housing in Hanoi is the price of it Housing prices in the city centre are exorbitant and almost all young adults cannot afford to buy an apartment, let alone a house A tidal wave of people from the countryside have been gravitating towards the city in search of work but there is a lack of affordable housing Many of them end up renting substandard houses to live in - alarming (adj): báo động exorbitant (adj): đắt cắt cổ gravitate towards something /ˈɡrævɪteɪt/ (verb): đổ về, hướng substandard (adj): mức tiêu chuẩn Source: Cuốn Câu hỏi Bài mẫu IELTS Speaking part theo chủ đề + Khóa học IELTS Online: https://online.ielts-thanhloan.com/ + Sách học IELTS: https://ielts-thanhloan.com/danh-muc/sach-ielts-thanh-loan-viet + Fanpage với tài liệu hay: https://www.facebook.com/IELTSThanhLoan SPEAKING TEST Part – Neighbours Have you lived in your current living area for a long time? Honestly, I don’t know anything about them We never talk to each other Actually, we just treat each other like strangers So I don’t know who they are I think it’s the pattern there and it’s something I don’t like about city life - pattern /ˈpæt.ən/ (noun): kiểu, mẫu, xu hướng How often you see them? Well, I see my neighbours a few times a week We usually see each other when we're leaving for work in the morning or coming home in the evening but never talk to one another - leave for work (verb phrase): rời nhà làm What kinds of problems people sometimes have with their neighbours? I think the most common problem is probably noise My neighbours have two children and they are naughty The noise they make is sometimes really irritating I wish they could be better-behaved - well-behaved (adj): biết điều, cư xử mực → better-behaved How you think neighbours can help each other? I believe good neighbours can be really supportive at times When I lived with my parents in my hometown in the countryside, my neighbours were really nice They watched our house when we went on holiday and took a delivery when something arrived by post and we were not at home - supportive /səˈpɔː.tɪv/ (adj): nhiệt tình giúp đỡ take a delivery /dɪˈlɪv.ər.i/ (verb phrase): nhận hàng (vận chuyển đến) Source: Cuốn Câu hỏi Bài mẫu IELTS Speaking part theo chủ đề + Khóa học IELTS Online: https://online.ielts-thanhloan.com/ + Sách học IELTS: https://ielts-thanhloan.com/danh-muc/sach-ielts-thanh-loan-viet + Fanpage với tài liệu hay: https://www.facebook.com/IELTSThanhLoan Part – Descibe a difficult task that you succeeded in doing as a part of work/study You should say:  What task you did  Why this task was very difficult  How you worked on this task  and explain how you felt when you had successfully When I was still studying in college, a part of the curriculum requires you to an internship in order to graduate I was lucky to be picked by a design boutique that handled very important clients, with campaigns valued in thousands of dollars During my second week there, one of the clients suddenly decided that a campaign, which had been in the works for a month and was due to be launched in three days, should be completely reworked Apparently he was not satisfied with several crucial parts of the strategy and we were tasked with reworking it all from the ground floor We spent all night brainstorming how to pull off something that took a month to set up before It was an incredibly challenging project and we had only one chance to get it right I took a look at previous projects that the company had run with this client, doubled back on the feedback the client had given throughout the project and had a moment of clarity, I now had an idea and I pitched it to the team and was set up to run point on the project After hours of hard work we now had a new project that incorporated what was already created into a new strategy which would not only make use of all the materials created this far, but would also keep the original timetable in place with minor modifications The client was over the moon at our follow up meeting and the ingenuity of the new plan Source: https://www.aland.edu.vn/ + Khóa học IELTS Online: https://online.ielts-thanhloan.com/ + Sách học IELTS: https://ielts-thanhloan.com/danh-muc/sach-ielts-thanh-loan-viet + Fanpage với tài liệu hay: https://www.facebook.com/IELTSThanhLoan Part – Difficult jobs + Personal and career success Which jobs would you say are most respected in your country? Well, actually I’ve never thought of it before, but I believe that occupations in the fields of business, education and medicine are the most highly-acclaimed ones As for business, it is largely because people working in this field can make a fortune and have a high social status Meanwhile, people working in education and medicine spend most of their time helping others Here in Vietnam, we have the utmost respect for teachers, doctors, nurses and the like - highly-acclaimed /əˈkleɪmd/ (adj): tán dương, ca ngợi largely ~ mainly (adv): phần lớn make a fortune /ˈfɔː.tʃuːn/ (verb phrase): kiếm nhiều tiền have the utmost respect for somebody /ˈʌt.məʊst rɪˈspekt/ (verb phrase): dành tôn trọng cao cho the like (noun): thứ/ người tương tự Some people say it’s better to work for yourself than be employed by a company What’s your opinion? Well, I think it all depends Some people want to start their own business after graduating from university and they actually run it well But as for me, personally I think being employed by a business is the first step before I can be self-employed To be specific, working for others, I can get familiar with the feeling of being an employee and understand obstacles an employee may be faced with Only then can I know how to behave with my followers when I run my own business and become a good boss And when we are able to establish a good working relationship, the business is more likely to take off - it all depends: cịn tùy get familiar with something /fəˈmɪl.i.ər/ (verb phrase): quen với obstacle /ˈɒb.stə.kəl/ (noun): trở ngại khó khăn to be faced with something: đối mặt với … take off (phrasal verb): thành công What changes in employment have there been in recent years in your country? Well, in former days, a tidal wave of people from rural areas gravitated towards big cities in search of work But now the trend is slightly different I mean there are still people following this pattern but at present, an increasing number of companies and industrial zones have sprung up on the outskirts of big cities so that more people can land a job right in their current residential areas Besides, young generations are increasingly involved in setting up their own businesses As a result, the “start-up” community is now more vibrant than ever before - in former days (adv): trước + Khóa học IELTS Online: https://online.ielts-thanhloan.com/ + Sách học IELTS: https://ielts-thanhloan.com/danh-muc/sach-ielts-thanh-loan-viet + Fanpage với tài liệu hay: https://www.facebook.com/IELTSThanhLoan - a tidal wave of people /ˈtaɪ.dəl/ (noun phrase): nhiều người gravitate towards big cities in search of work /ˈɡrævɪteɪt/ (verb phrase): đổ thành phố lớn để tìm việc spring up (phrasal verb): xuất hiện, mọc lên land a job (verb phrase): có công việc vibrant /ˈvaɪ.brənt/ (adj): sống động, náo nhiệt, sôi động What are some of the important things a candidate should find out before accepting a job? I believe everyone has their own criteria to select a job As far as I’m concerned, I would consider the compensation package - all the payment and benefits I can receive for doing the job like salary, allowances, annual leave, insurance, and the like On top of that, my area of responsibilities need to be clearly understood so that I will not be overloaded with deadlines on the road - criteria (số nhiều criterion) /kraɪˈtɪə.ri.ə/ (noun): tiêu chí as far as I’m concerned /kənˈsɜːnd/: theo biết, theo nghĩ compensation package /ˌkɒm.penˈseɪ.ʃən ˈpæk.ɪdʒ/ (noun phrase): chế độ đãi ngộ allowance /əˈlaʊ.əns/ (noun): phụ cấp annual leave /ˈæn.ju.əl liːv/ (noun phrase): nghỉ phép hàng năm overloaded with something /ˌəʊ.vəˈləʊ.dɪd/: tải on the road (adv): tương lai Why you think some people choose to difficult jobs? I can think of a couple of reasons at the moment First, many people choose difficult and dangerous jobs such as firefighters or police officers for humanitarian purposes: they feel it’s their duty to contribute to society Meanwhile, many others are adrenaline junkies - their brains are wired for thrilling experiences and they tend to be very confident around risk-taking and work well under pressure Finally, it all boils down to money For the most part, the tougher the job is, the more money you can earn - for humanitarian purposes /hjuːˌmỉn.ɪˈteə.ri.ən/ /ˈpɜː.pəs/: mục đích nhân đạo adrenaline junkies /əˈdren·əl·ən/ /ˈdʒʌŋ.ki/ (noun phrase): kẻ nghiện adrenaline (thích cảm giác hồi hộp, ly kỳ mà thứ mạo hiểm mang lại) wired for something /waɪəd/: lập trình risk-taking (noun): việc mạo hiểm làm boil down to something (phrasal verb): + Khóa học IELTS Online: https://online.ielts-thanhloan.com/ + Sách học IELTS: https://ielts-thanhloan.com/danh-muc/sach-ielts-thanh-loan-viet + Fanpage với tài liệu hay: https://www.facebook.com/IELTSThanhLoan Is it always necessary to work hard in order to achieve career success? I’d rather work smarter than harder Hard work is essential, but working smart accomplishes more Someone who makes $1 million per year doesn't work one hundred times harder than someone making $10,000 per year They utilise their thinking skills to minimize unnecessary tasks and extra steps, so that they can use their time wisely and more effectively to get things done quickly - accomplish something /əˈkʌm.plɪʃ/ (verb): hoàn thành, đạt utilise something /ˈjuː.təl.aɪz/ (verb): tận dụng Do you think that successful people are always happy people? Well, it’s an interesting question I would say it all depends on how we define success Being successful is simply being able to make a fortune I think most people think of success that way and in that case the answer would be no as money can’t buy happiness In fact, the marriages of many affluent people end in divorce as they can’t balance between work and life However, if we expand that definition to other types of success like being able to get up early in the morning, having a girlfriend or having a family reunion, we will probably find that success can bring happiness - make a fortune /ˈfɔː.tʃuːn/ (verb phrase): kiếm nhiều tiền affluent people /ˈæf.lu.ənt/ (noun phrase): người giàu balance between work and life /ˈbæl.əns/ (verb phrase): cân công việc sống Source: Cuốn Câu hỏi Bài mẫu IELTS Speaking part theo chủ đề + Khóa học IELTS Online: https://online.ielts-thanhloan.com/ + Sách học IELTS: https://ielts-thanhloan.com/danh-muc/sach-ielts-thanh-loan-viet + Fanpage với tài liệu hay: https://www.facebook.com/IELTSThanhLoan SPEAKING TEST Part – Hometown Where are you from?
