(1)LESSON PLAN UNIT 11 : KEEP FIT, STAY HEALTHY Period 70 _ Lesson : B1 AIMS : - Teacher introduces for students some new words - Teacher gives to ask and answer the questions about sicknesses - Further practice in the past simple, question forms and negative forms OBJECTIVES : By the end of the lesson, students will be able to talk about sicknesses and use the past simple in question forms and negative forms ANTICIPATED PROBLEMS : It may be difficult for students to talk about sicknesses and use the past simple in question forms and negative forms WORK ARRANGEMENT : Teacher – whole class, individual, pair work,… MATERIALS : Teacher’s book, Student’s book,… PROCEDURE : Stages Warm up (5’ Teacher’s activities Student’s activities Technique: Chain game -Students group  Steps : work - Asks students to work in group (Each group has 10 students) - Asks students, one by one to go to the front of the class, each student passed the ball and says out the word until they make, a meaningful sentence - At the end, teacher asks the whole group to repeat the sentence Ex : Teacher : Yesterday Student : Yesterday, I went to (2) PRESENTATION (15’) - - school Student : Yesterday, I went to school, I played soccer Student : … Pre – teach vocabulary (to) have a bad cold : bị cảm nặng (translation) (to) have a headache : bị nhức đầu (mime) (to) have a virus : bị nhiễm vi rút (translation) (to) have a stomachache : bị đau dày (mime) (to) write a sick note : viết giấy phép nghỉ ốm (visual) Check vocabulary Technique : Use “What and Where” Have a bad cold Have a headache -listen -repeat chorally and individual -listen and repeat -read and remember the words Have a stomachache Have a virus Write a sick note Presentation dialogue  Set the scene : - Asks students to look at the picture on page 110 to answer the question - This is Mr Tan, he is a teacher and this is Lan - Look at the balloon : Lan was not Teacher whole class (3) - -  -  - o o o there, she was absent Asks students : What you think Mr Tan is asking Lan? What was wrong with you? Asks students to look at the balloon : What does Lan answer? I had a bad cold Model sentences : “What was wrong with you? She had a bad cold.” Asks students about Lan What was wrong with her? She had a bad cold Asks students how to ask and answer about health problems Steps : Use a picture that shown a situation Elicits the target language from the students looking at the picture “What was wrong with her? She had a bad cold.” Checks meaning, from, use, pronunciation Meaning : What does it mean in Vietnamese? Form : + What is the first word? + What is the subject? + What is the verb tobe? + What is the verb? + What is the word after verb? Use : Do you know what was wrong with her? So, when we want to know what was wrong with someone, what structure you use ? : “What + was/were + wrong with + S? Có vấn đề gì xảy với cô ấy? Hoa (go) to the dentist last week - Divides the class into teams One team is Noughts (Os) and the other is Crosses (Xs) - Two teams choose the number in box in turns and make the correct sentences with “shoul”d or “shouldn’t” - If the sentence is correct, they will get one (O) or one (X) - The team which has (O) or (X) in a line is the winner - Draw this chart on the board and the game begins (6) HOMEWORK (2’) - Write the sentences with the correct Individual work tense from Noughts and Crosses - Write sentences about your friends health problems last year (7)
