(1)Date of teaching: 05/03/2013 Previod Week: Unit 15: Festivals Lesson I AIMS : - To help pupils to know how to ask and answer about popular festivals II OBJECTIVES : -By the end of the lesson pupils will be able to ask and answer questions about popular festivals A Vocabulary : Tet,Mid-Autumn Festival,New year,popular,Christmas,Children’s Day, Santa Claus, present, carol,lantern, mooncake, parade, B Sentences : What’s Tet? It’s a big festival C Skill : listening and reading,speaking skills III TEACHING AIDS: -Picture in student's book, Ss’ book ,tape IV TEACHING PRODUCTION A Organizaton:-Greeting -Checking attendance B New lesson Stages Teacher’s activities Pupil’s activities 1.Warm-up Ask Ss to guess words related to food and Guess and speak drink for Tet out 2.Pre-stage 3.Whilestage Ask Ss to open their book and look at the picture on P 30 Elicit the picture Tell Ss that they are going to listen to the recording and repeat the dialogue between Mai and Linda Play the recording through or read the dialogue aloud for pupils to listen as they follow the dialogue Play the recording again,pausing after each line for Ss to repeat Repeat in choral,group and individual Check to make sure Ss can repeat and understand the dialogue Give the new model: -What’s Tet? - It’s a big festival Checking meaning ,grammar ,pronunciation Open the book Listen Listen Listen and repeat Write down *Look and say Ask Ss to look at the Pictures on P.30 Elicit the picture and say the task Go through all the words under the pictures Use the first picture to the task as a model Follow T -What is Christmas? -It’s a big festival Open their book Listen (2) Ask Ss to work in pairs to ask and answer for each picture Monitor and help if necessary Select some pairs to demonstrate the task in front of the class Post-stages Homework *Talk Ask Ss to open their book at P.31 Help them to identify the women’s characteristics in the pictures Tell them that they are going to practice asking and answering question about popular festivals ,using new model have just learnt Ask Ss to look at picture a as an example and say the sentence “ – What is Tet? - It’s a big festival “ Tell Ss to work in pairs to discuss how to the task Ask them to work in pairs, one asks and the other gives the answer,using the sentence patterns and the picture cues Ask Ss to role play their friends’ personal characteristics Select some pairs to demonstrate the task in front of the class Help when necessary *Listen and tick Ask Ss to look at Pictures at P.31 Tell them that they are going to hear the recording and tick the correct pictures according to the information they hear Play the recording through for Ss to listen Replay for them to listen and tick the correct answers Replay once more for them to check their answer Let Ss to exchange their answers then report to the class Read out the correct answers to the class Do exercise in work book Read Listen Work in pair Stand up and read out Open book Follow T Listen Discuss Work in pairs Follow T Listen and take note Listen to the tape and the task Exchange answer Take note (3) Date of teaching: 06.03.2013 Previod Week: Unit 15 : Festivals Lesson I AIMS : - To help pupils to know how to pronounce the sound of the letters T and that of the letters f and help Ss to listen,read and understand the texts in tape and book II OBJECTIVES : -By the end of the lesson pupils will be able to listen and read for specific information A Vocabulary : B Sentences : C Skill : listening and reading skills III TEACHING AIDS: -Picture in student's book,Ss book,tape IV TEACHING PRODUCTION A Organizaton:-Greeting -Checking attendance B New lesson Stages Teacher’s activities 1.Warm-up Ask Ss to write about their family members’personal characteristics on the board 2.Pre-stage 3.Whilestage *Listen and repeat Ask Ss to open their book on P.32 and look at the picture Elicit the picture Ask Ss to look at the chant Draw Ss’attention to the sounds of the letter T as in Tet and the sound of letter f as in festival Tell them to listen and pronounce these sounds correctly Ask Ss to look at the chant Listen to the teacher’s model and repeat the focused sounds Play the recording for Ss to listen to and repeat the chant Repeat the step when necessary Repeat in choral, group and individual Call some Ss to chant out in front of the class Provide help and correct mistakes when necessary Pupil’s activities Follow T Open the book Listen Listen, follow T Look,listen and repeat Listen and repeat *Listen and number Ask Ss to look at the Pictures on P.32 Elicit the picture and say the task Go through all the words through the pictures Play the recording through for Ss to listen Play the recording again for Ss to the task Open the book Play the recording once more for Ss to check their answers Listen and (4) Get Ss to compare their answers with their partners Discuss their answers Help when necessary Let Ss report in front of the class Post-stage *Read and complete Ask Ss to open the book at P.33 Elicit the picture and the text and say the task Ask Ss to look at the picture and tell them that they are going to read the text about Tet Let Ss read the text and the task individually Get Ss to work in pairs to discuss the answers Call on some Ss to report their answers to the class Announce the answers to the class.Provide explainations when necessary repeat Listen Listen and the task Compare Report out Open their book Listen Guess * Let’s sing Guide Ss to sing the song( P 33) Do the task ind Homework Do exercise in work book Compare with partners and report out Follow T to sing Take note Date of teaching: 12/03/2013 Previod Week: Unit 15 : Festivals Lesson I AIMS : - To help pupils to know how to ask and answer question about future plan II OBJECTIVES : -By the end of the lesson pupils will be able to ask and answer question about future plan A Vocabulary : B Sentences : What are you going to do?
