Please, write and tell me more about your summer holiday as soon as you can I am looking forward to hearing from you Best wishes, Thao Linh 03 Nakashima's letter about his summer holiday Tokyo, Japan June 9, 2013 Dear all, I'm glad to receive your letters I've just come back from Paris It was an amazing trip Paris is the most gorgeous city I've ever seen After a long flight, we arrived at the Verne Hotel at 9p.m However, I wasn't tired at all I was too eager to discover the city On the first day, we climbed up the stairs to the top of Eiffel Tower It was beautiful and I could see all of Paris city from the tower's top The next day, we visited the Louver Museum, one of the world's largest museums There are so many famous artworks and I loved the painting "Mona Lisa" most Believe me, it looks fantastic On the way to the airport, we dropped by Monometer's Place du Tarter, the biggest shopping area in Paris After looking around, I got only one souvenir It is small but very useful It has Mickey Mouse inside but it's not a picture frame and I always keep it by my side Can you guess what it is? You are a lucky girl I'm sure it was a great experience traveling to a beautiful city like Paris Unfortunately, we canceled our trip to Ha long Bay because my father suddenly went on a two-month business trip I would spend my whole summer vacation at home There is no Ha long Bay, no fantastic photos on the beach, no seafood How disappointed I was! Day after day, time seems to be longer than usual Until one day, my Mom came home with a lovely cat There is a cat in my house and it's mine Unbelievable! Hope to hear you soon Your friend, Thao Linh 07 Sharing a great time during the three days off November 28th, 2012 Dear all, Thanks for the letters and for sharing your new semesters with me I hope everything is going well I had a Midterm break on Halloween I had a great time during the three days off My friends and I dressed as ghosts and went trick or treating at our neighbors' houses We had a lot of fun together Last week in school, we took part in a Science Day We did many experiments on water I dropped some stones and some leaves in a basin of water Now I know that leaves float on the surface of water but stones sink to the bottom Is there anything new with you? Write and let me know, my dear friends Best wishes, Nakashima 08 Sharing a great Halloween party at school Hanoi, Vietnam December 12th, 2012 Dear Nakashima, (6) I was so happy to receive your letter this morning It has been ages since I last heard from you Your Halloween sounds so cool and you will be surprised to know that I also had a great Halloween here In Vietnam, we not go to our neighbors for candies (though I’d love to), like you there Instead, we had an amazing party at school Our teacher helped us dress as princes, supermen and ugly wizards I myself dressed up like a Harry Potter Are you a big Harry Potter fan like I am? The party was so fun We sang, danced together and got many sweets from our teacher This Friday, we are having a special Science lesson, too My friends and I are going to the school lab We will plant trees, then bring them home and take care of them I am so excited I will tell you more once I have my own tree With love, Thao Linh 09 About the mid-term tests Tokyo, Japan December 28th, 2012 Dear all, It was great for me to receive your letters- they are so interesting Just like you said, Vietnamese Teachers' Day (November 20th) sounds like a wonderful celebration for teachers in your country You will never believe this, but in my country, we don't have this special holiday I think it's okay though, because I always show my teachers respect and appreciation Since we last spoke, I have taken my mid-term tests in four subjects- Science, Math, English and Music I find Math rather difficult I would like to get a B+ in the course, but I am afraid that I won't be able to I am very worried about it! How are your tests going? Do you have mid-terms, too?
