(1)UNIT 13: ACTIVITIES AND THE SEASONS LESSON A1-2 Period 79 A OCJECTIVES By the end of the lesson, students will be able to talk about temperature and the weather, season vocabulary with “w hat’s the weather like ?” Knowledge: - practice temperature and seasons vocabulary with "What's the weather like?" to talk about the weather in each season Skill: - listening, reading and writing Attitude: Show positive attitude to learning, and express friendships Skills: Listening – Speaking – Writing – Reading B TEACHING AIDS - Lesson plan, English book visual aids, cards, projector, laptop, speaker C METHODS: jumbled word, R.O.R, picture drill, gap fill D CONTENTS: I Organization: Class Date of teaching 6A1 26/3/2021 6A2 26/3/2021 6A3 26/3/2021 Teacher & Ss’ activities II Warm up: (5 minutes) *Jumbled words - oht -Write numbers whose letters are in disorder - codl - Divide the class into two teams - like - Ask students from each team to go to the board and write - whta the correct words -Look at the board - Listen to the teacher - Work in teams - Go to the board and write the correct words (One word, one student) Absent Ss No Content = hot = cold = like = what III New lesson Step Presentation: (12 minutes) Act 1- Present new words: - Listen to the teacher - Repeat after the teacher - Notice the main stress pattern - Write the new words in their notebooks 1.Vocab - warm (adj) ấm áp -cool (adj) : mát mẻ -the summer (n): mùa hè -the winter (n) mùa đông -the autumn = fall (n): mùa thu -the spring (n) : mùa xuân * Checking: R&R  Presentation text - ask students to read the sentences in A1 on page 134 to isolate the model senetences: - What’s the weather like in thesummer? - It’s hot What’s the weather like in the Spring? It is cold (adj) Step Practice(16 minutes) * Picture Drill (A1- P 134) - Have Ss look at the pictures of A1 on page 134, then (2) practice asking and answering  Word cue drill - Run through the cues - Hold up the first cues and say the model sentences - What’s the weather like in the summer? - It’s hot in the summer - Do the same for the second cue - Practice asking and answering in pairs: - Look at the cues - Listen to the teacher - Repeat it chorally and then individually - Make the sentence for themselves - Practice in pairs - Some pairs practice in front Step 3.Further Practice(9 minutes) Choose the correct answer to complete the sentence 1.It’s (cold/ hot/ cool/ warm) in the summer it’s cold in the (summer/ winter/ fall/ spring) What’s the weather (hot/ cold/ like/ cool) in the fall? thu likes hot weather but Mai likes (the/ a/ an/ cold) weather IV summary: (2 minutes) - Repeat the content of the lesson - What's weather like in the spring? - It's warm - What's weather like in the summer? - It's hot V Homework: (1 minute) - Learn by heart all words and structures - Make sentences - Do exercise 1,2 - Prepare Unit 13(A2,3) (Read, find new words) 2.Practice - hot / summer - cold / winter - warm / spring - cool / fall - What's weather like in the spring? - It's warm - What's weather like in the summer? - It's hot Gap- fill It’s …hot… in the summer In the …spring……., it’s warm In the winter, it’s…cold…… it’s cool in the……fall…… (3)
