UNIT 3: A TRIP TO THE COUNTRYSIDE LESSON 5: WRITE.

Aims: To give the students some new words and time for them to practice their writing skill.

Objectives: By the end of the lesson the students will be able to write passages about their trip to the countryside

Skills: Listening, speaking, writing.

Teaching aids: book, pictures, questions, poster. Languages:

Grammar: The past progressive tense

Vocabulary: picnic site, lay out something, gather thing, catch a bus.

I. WARMER: Brainstorming - sing song

II. PRE-WRITING:

1. Pre-teach vocabulary:

- a picnic site /'piknik sait/: điểm dã ngoại - to lay out sth /lei aut/: trải đồ

- to gather thing /'gi/: gom đồ lại - to catch a bus /k bs/: đón xe buýt

Rub out and remember: 2. Set the scene:

We are going to write a paragraph about a journey to the countryside

3. Picture cues drill : (p27)

Look at the pictures and answer the questions. a How did they go to the countryside?(picture

b Where was the picnic site? (picture b)

c What did they when they were at the site? (picture b)

- Teacher sticks the pictures and questions on the board after asking

- Students look at the pictures and answer

- Follows the steps for presenting vocabulary

- Gives the common idea of the lesson - Points at the pictures and asks the students about those things

III. WHILE- WRITING: Write it up

Students work in groups and write a passage entitled “A Country Picnic” on poster Using the pictures and the information gives on page 26, 27 and from the activity above

- Groups go around and help each other correct mistakes

- Asks the students to

exhibit their writing - Stick the writings on the board

- Each student writes the passage in their book

- Prepare for the next lesson
