2 Teaching aim: To teach students “ Hi / Hello” , “ I’m … / My name’s…” to introduce themselves and numbers –

II. Preparations: Book, pictures, cards, cassette player III. Procedures:

a Warm - up: (3’)

_ Ask students some questions about how to study English

+ Should we learn vocabulary? + How can you learn vocabulary?

b Presentation: (15’) + Vocabulary:

_ Hi / Hello: Chào _ name (n): tên _ I :

_ Am / is / are (v): laø

_ Ask Ss to practice the new words + Target language:

Form: Hello / Hi.

I am ( ‘m ) / My name is (‘s) … _ Xin chào

_ Tôi là… / Tên là…

_ Dùng chào (thân mật) tự giới thiệu

_ Ask students to say the greetings how to introduce themselves

c Practice: (15’) _ Run through the pictures

_ Let students play the role of Lan, Ba, Nga and Ba

_ Answer the teacher’s questions

_ Listen to the teacher

_ Practice the new words

_ Give the meaning of the words _ Copy down

_ Practice the new words _ Copy down

_ Pay attention to what the teacher shows and listen to him or her attentively

_ Say the greeting and how to identify oneself

_ Run forward and slap the correct numbers on the board
