1 The past simple (ordinary verbs)

- Diễn tả hành

động xảy kết thúc khứ với thời gian cụ thể

yesterday, last (night, week, month, year, sunday, summer,); days (months,years, ) ago

(+) S + V(ed)/ V2 (đt bất quy tắc côt 2)

(-) S + didn’t + V (?) Did + S + V? Wh + did + S + V?

Ex: I stayed with our uncle a week ago

2 The present perfect -Dùng để diễn tả hành động, việc xảy khứ mà không đề cập tới thời gian cụ thể:

-Dùng để diễn tả hành động vừa xảy

- Diễn tả hành động khứ mà tiếp tục đến tại:

3 The passive - Quy tắc chuyển đổi từ câu chủ động sang câu bị động Tìm tân ngữ câu chủ động, đưa xuống làm chủ ngữ câu bị động

- Xác định động từ câu chủ động, động từ câu chủ động thì “to be” câu bị động

Form: Câu chủ động (active): S + V + O

Câu bị động (passive): S + be + PII + by O

Modal verbs: S +modal verbs + be + PII + by O

Ex:

Active: He gave me a novel yesterday.

- Modal “could” with “wish”.

- Diễn tả điều ước khơng có thật

S1 + wish(es) + S2 + V (ed) were

Ex: I wish I were rich

S1 + wish(es) + S2 + could + V(bare)

Ex: Hoa wishes she could visit her grandparents.

5 Modal verbs with if Động từ khuyết thiếu mệnh đề đưa thêm thơng tin kết liên quan đến: khả năng, chắn, cho

phép, nghĩa vụ hay cần thiết

6 Direct and reported speech

* Narrative sentence:động từ giới thiệu: say S1 + said (that) + S2 + V (lùi xuống thì) told sb (that)

•Reported questions: động từ giới thiệu: ask •Yes/No questions

S1 + asked +O + if / whether + S2 + V (lùi xuống thì) •Wh- questions:

S1 + asked +O + wh + S2 + V (lùi xuống thì)

Chú ý: Dùng “say that” “tell somebody that” để đổi câu kể sang câu gián tiếp, không dùng “say to somebody that” “tell that”
