LESSON PLAN

UNIT 3: PEOPLE’S BACKGROUND period 2-speaking

AIMS:

This lesson aims to help students to:

 Writing a CV about people ‘s background OBJECTIVES:

By the end of the lesson, students are able to: Language:

 Get to know the format, layout and essential information of a CV  Enrich their vocabularies in writing

Skill:

 Write a simple CV

APPROACH AND TEACHING AIDS:  BB, a CV sample

ANTICIPATED PROBLEM:

 Students say some expressions incorrectly  Some good students speak more in group

 Some students are off the track when working in group SOLUTIONS:

 Teacher conducts repetition the expressions a number of times and gives comments after the lesson

 Teacher monitors groups and asks some good students to talk less in their group  Teacher goes around and controls their works

PROCEDURES:

Teacher greets students and checks the class’s attendance Teacher begins the lesson

1/ Warm up: Wordsquare ( Review reading lesson 10m) Stick the big poster on the board

Ask the class to divide into groups and take out one to representative

Call on representatives to write down the answer on BB

Task 1: Eliciting ideas

Ask Ss to decide which items can tell somebody’s background Elicit from Ss some questions can be used to get information for each item

Family :

How many people are there in your family? What does your father do?

Education:

Where did you study at high school? What degree you have?

What subject you like? Experience:

What experience you have? How long have you work as….? Task : Eliciting questions

Ask Ss if they know the require of task 2, then elicit some question for each item

Greeting -Good morning -When were you born? -Where were you born? -Where you live? -What you parents do?

-How many brothers/sisters you have? -What’s the name of your primary (secondary)school?

-Were you a member of any club?… -What subjects you like best? -Thank you very much
