- To introduce the Ss to get acquainted with language structure to ask some information at the post office service

- To help the students continue listening and practicing the situations appeared at the post office Educational aim:

III Teacher and students’ preparation:

Method: Communicative approach

Techniques: Repetition, Ask and answer, using picture Materials needed: Textbook, picture, and cassette

Students’ preparation: Homework, new lesson, teaching aids IV Procedure in class:

Stabilization: (3ms)

a Warm – up: Makes greetings (Good morning, class./ How are you?) b Checking absence: Asks the monitor: Who is absent today?

Checking – up previous knowledge: (5ms)

Questions: - shows a picture and ask a student to make a question in order to know the distance from somewhere to somewhere, and the other answers (based on the places mentioned by the teacher)

Keys to the questions: (possible answers: P1: How far is it from Nhatrang to Ho Chi Minh City? P2: It is about 1,340 kilometers)

1 Lead in:

Hangs the picture about the post office on the board and ask: What services are supplied at the post office?

Sending letter, post cards, making long / short distance phone calls, buying envelops / stamps

2.Pre-practice:

Has them prepare to listen to a short conversation happened at the post office, let’s listen and answer the questions based on the content of the dialogue.

We will hear a conversation in thr post office.

You listen to the tape and answer the questions in your book.

3.Controlled-practice:

- Has the Ss listen to the tape once (book closed)

- Explains the structure polite request with: I’d like to + v / noun

Ex: I’d like to send a letter to the Philippines Ex: I’d like some stamps

- Explains the structure about the price of something:

How much do/ does +S+ cost? How much is/ are + S?

- Has them practice the dialogue in pairs - Calls on some pairs to read aloud the

dialogue (mention about the pronunciation and intonation of the students)

- Let them listen to the tape the second time and answer the questions part now answers the questions

- Has them compare the answers with a friend

- Has some of them read the answer in front of the class

- Gives out the correct answers

Let them listen to the tape the third time, but this time let them listen sentence by sentence to check the key and explain the new words.
