(1)Lesson Plan (grade 11 – advanced) Period 99: Unit12 : Preparation date :5 /3/2008 Lesson : Speaking I Aims : - By the end of the lesson, the students are able to talk about hobbies - By the end of the lesson, the students are able to express preferences II Lexical items : -would rather -prefer - engrossed III- Structures : - I enjoy swimming because it is an excellent way of getting rid of stress - I refer reading books to playing sports IVTeaching aids: - textbook - Handouts - chalk - cards VTechniques : - skill-based ( listening, speaking) VIProcedures : State/time Teacher’s and students’ activities Blackboard warmGames: Spontaneous talks up -Put the class into groups of four (7’) - give each group a list of leisure activities Each activity is written on a piece of paper and then folded so that it cannot be seen - Within groups, SS take turns to choose a topic and then talk about it spontaneously for one minute - Remind SS that they not need to care about accuracy -After SS have finished their spontaneous talk within groups , elicit which topic they chose, and whether they like doing it in their free time and why Suggested leisure activities ( The assigned topic for each group does not need to be the same.)
