LESSON PLAN

Unit 13: Films And Cinema Lesson 2: language focus Time allotted: 45 minutes

I. AIM:

By the end of this lesson Ss will be able to:

- Pronounce the sound /f/ and /v/ correctly - Use the correct adjectival form of verb

II. TEACHING AIDS: textbook, hand out, computer…

III. ANTICIPATED PROBLEMS:

- Students may encounter certain difficulties in doing task related to the sound and new structure

IV. SOLUTION:

- Teacher tries to give explanation as clearly as possible to make students understand the grammar point

V. PRODUCE

Warm-up(5’) : T < - > whole class

- T shows pictures and asks Ss to guess what this is (these name have sound /f/ or /v/ : fan, cell phone, coffee, vase, leave, violet)

- T gives instruction:

“I will show six pictures one by one And you will guess “what is this” ”

 Concept checking:

1 What you now? - T carries out the game

Pronunciation (5’) : T < - > whole class

- T corrects mistakes

- T asks Ss give some example

- T asks Ss to listen and repeat the sentence in textbook

- T asks Ss to underline the words with the sounds /f/ or /v/ - T calls some Ss read again

- T corrects mistakes

Grammar (12’) : T < - > whole class  adjectives of attitude

- T gives example: 1.T shows a picture

T asks: - what are they doing? - How they look like? Ss answer: - they are watching TV

- they feel interested T shows sentence:

+ They are interested in this program + this program is interesting

- T shows the way to set the form of adjective of attitude - T gives form and meaning:

Form:

* Present participle: V-ing * Past participle: V-ed

Practice

Exercise (5’): work in pairs

- T asks Ss to work in pairs and write the adjectival forms of the verbs

- T gives instruction:

“work in pairs and write the adjectival forms of the verbs.5 minutes for you”

- T goes around to help Ss if necessary - T calls some Ss to give their answers - T gives feedback and corrects answers

Exercise (8’) : work in pairs

- T asks Ss to work in pairs and exercise in textbook

- T gives instruction:

“Work in pairs and exercise in textbook minutes for you” - T goes around to help Ss if necessary

- T calls some Ss to give their answers - T gives feedback and corrects answers

Production (9’) : T < - > whole class

- T asks Ss to look at the picture and make the sentence with adjective of attitude

- T shows pictures one by one Each picture, T gives a adjective

- T gives instruction:

“I will show pictures one by one And you have to make a sentence with adjective of attitude.”

- T models one picture
