2.2 Wishes for the present.
Cấu trúc wish sử dụng để thể mong ước điều khơng có thật giả định điều trái ngược so với thực tế Cách dùng giống với cấu trúc câu điều kiện loại II
- Ta dùng khứ đơn diễn đạt mong muốn, mong ước tương lai
Example:

- Khi muốn khuyến nghị, đề xuất ý kiến với đó, ta thường dùng cấu trúc suggest

Trong trường hợp dùng mệnh đề với suggest, dùng động từ nguyên mẫu (có thể khơng dùng should)
Ví dụ: The doctor suggests that he lose some weights
2.5 Past perfect.
Thì q khứ hồn thành dùng để diễn tả hành động xảy trước hành động khác khứ, diễn tả hành động xảy hoàn thành trước thời điểm nói đến khứ
(+) S + had + V(past participle) (-) S + hadn’t + V(past participle) (?) Had + S + V(past participle)? Example:
- He had slept when we came into the house
- They had finished their project right before the deadline last week
- Before the 1990s, tram had been a popular means of transport in Ha Noi
* Đối với hai hành động khứ hành động xảy trước dùng q khứ hồn thành, hành động xảy sau dùng khứ đơn
2.6 Adjective + to- infinitives/ Adjective + that- clause
a It + be + adjective + to-infinitive/ It + be + adjective + for/ of + noun / pronoun + to -infinitive: dùng để nhấn mạnh thông tin (dùng chủ ngữ giả It)
Example: It is necessary (for you) to know about your country’s history.
b S +be + adjective + to-infinitive: dùng để diễn tả phản ứng cảm xúc Các tính từ thường dùng như: glad, sorry, sad, delighted, pleased, happy, afraid, anxious, surprised, shocked, relieved, certain, sure, confident, convinced, annoyed, astonished, aware, conscious. Example: I was happy to hear from you.
c S + be + adjective + that- clause: dùng với tính từ diễn tả xúc cảm, lo lắng, tin tưởng, như: delighted, glad, pleased, relieved, sorry, afraid, anxious, worried, confident, certain, sure, convinced, annoyed, astonished, aware, conscious.
