* Brainstorming: T asks Ss some questions to remind the way to learn vocab

- Do you like to learn E vocabulary?

- What you always when you have a new word? - How you learn it?

- How many words you learn a day?

- Do you have special way to learn E vocabulary? learn by heart each word

Write words on paper and sticks on wall III New lesson:

Step Pre - reading (15’)

- T introduces vocab using translation,

explaination and example - T reads as model

- Sts read in chorus times, then read individually

1 Vocabulary:

mother tongue ( n ): tiếng mẹ đẻ stick ( v ): dỏn, dớnh

come across ( v ): tình cờ thấy,gỈp underline ( v ): gạch chân

highlight ( v ): làm bật lên Ways you

- T checks stresses * Checking technique:

- Rub out and remember * True or false prediction:

- T sets the scence: Today you are going to read a text about some methods of learning vocab Before reading, guess which statement is T, which one is F

- Sts read the sentences carefully and predict which are true and which are false

Step While - reading (20) Activity Check prediction

Ss open the books to read and check their prediction

Then T asks Ss to read the text again and correct the false sentences

Activity 2: Make a list of ways learners learn vocab.

- T asks Ss to work in groups and make a list of ways learners learn vocab

Read:

* True or false:

a All language learners write the meaning of new words in their mother tongue

b Some learners write examples of words they want to learn

c Every learner tries to learn all new words they come across

d Many learners only learn new words that are important

* Ways language learners learn new words.

a Make a list of new words put into it the meanings of new words in their mother tongue, and try to learn them by heart

b Write one or two example sentences with each new word in order to remember how to use the word in the right way

c Write each word and its use on a small piece of paper and stick everywhere in the house so as to learn it at any way

d Underline or highlight only the new words they want to learn

e Learn ten words in two days
