DESCRIPTIVE ADJECTIVES (TÍNH TỪ MIÊU TẢ)
+ Tính từ miêu tả dùng để diễn tả tính chất, trạng thái, màu sắc, kích thước người, vật, việc: big (lớn), small (nhỏ), good (tốt) , tall (cao), pretty (xinh đẹp), blue (màu xanh),…
+Tính từ miêu tả thường sau động từ “to be” để bổ nghĩa cho chủ từ Subject + is/are + Adjective Ví dụ:
Mary is very beautiful. She is tall and thin You are tall and heavy
+ Tính từ miêu tả đứng trước danh từ để bổ nghĩa cho danh từ … + adjective + noun Ví dụ:
She has black hair. He is fat man

+ Trật tự tính từ miêu tả: Khi hai nhiều tính từ miêu tả dùng câu , trật tự chúng xếp sau:
Kích thước -> tuổi tác -> màu sắc -> hình dáng + NOUN (danh từ) (short, small)->(old, new)->(black, red)->(round,oval) + HAIR, FACE Ví dụ:
It’s a small old black round table. She has long black hair
+ Có thể dùng liên từ “and” để kết nối hai hai tính từ Ví dụ:
Mary is short and fat A red, white and green flag

Ask and answer about colors (Hỏi trả lời màu sắc) a/ Chủ ngữ danh từ số danh từ khơng đếm được:
Question: What color + is + chủ ngữ? Answer: It is (It’s) + màu sắc Example: -What color is her hair? - It’s blonde b/ Chủ ngữ danh từ số nhiều:
Question: What color + are + chủ ngữ? Answer: They are (They’re) + màu sắc Example: -What color are her eyes? - They’re black
“Or” questions with to be (Câu hỏi lựa chọn sử dụng “or” với động từ to be) a/ Hỏi người/ vật mang đặc điểm hai đặc điểm nêu ra: Khi chủ ngữ “he/ she/ it” danh từ số hay danh từ khơng đếm
Question: Is + chủ ngữ + tính từ + or + tính từ 2? Answer: Chủ ngữ + is + tính từ 1/ tính từ
Examples: - Is her hair brown or blonde? - It’s brown - Is he weak or strong? - He is weak
b/ Hỏi nhiều người hay nhiều vật mang đặc điểm hai đặc điểm nêu ra: Khi chủ ngữ ngơi “you/ we/ they” danh từ số nhiều
Question: Are + chủ ngữ + tính từ + or + tính từ 2? Answer: Chủ ngữ + are + tính từ 1/ tính từ
Examples: - Are her eyes big or small? - They’re small - Are those exercises easy or difficult? - They are difficult Note: Ta thay thành phần tính từ danh từ.
