Aims and objectives : + Language Content : - To help the students know how to ask for and give pesonal information - To enable them to know the way to introduce others +Language Function : - To enable them to ask and answer about personal information and about others’ information. +Educational Aim : - To make them aware of the sharing personal information with others 1. Language : + Vocabulary : family name = surname; middle name + Structures : Simple present tense; wh-questions 2. Skills : Speaking, Listening, writing and reading 3. Educational factor :To help Ss have habit of sharing personal information II. Teacher’s and students’ preparation : 1. Method : Communicative Approach 2. Techniques : repetition, explanation, using pictures, pairwork. 4. Materials needed : textbook, picture, cassette player 5. Student’s’preparation: homework 6. Previous exercise : write the dialogue III. PROCEDURES IN CLASS : 1. Stabilization :3ms a. Warm up : Greetings b. Checking absence: Who is absent today, monitor? 2. Checking up previous knowledge : (7ms) Has 2 s.s stand up to complete the open dial A4 a+b ( page 12 & 13 ) Key to the exercises: a. How are you? / fine / how about you? / pretty good / so am i. b. Lead in: 1. Sets the situation: Asks the s.s some information about themselves. a. What’s your name? b. How old are you? c. Where do you live? d. How many people are there in your family? Gets the s.s answers. Uses the picture in the text book to introduce the new lesson Tells the aims of the lesson to the s.s. Today we will study more about how to ask for and give personal information and how to introduce other people. First of all, we study some new words. II. Pre-practice: 1. Teaches new words: Teaches word by word according to the following principle and steps of teaching words. + family (n) { explanation} + middle name (n) { example} Gives example and explains the meanings of the new words. My name is Le Van Thoai Le is my family name / surname. Van is my middle name Thoai is my name / first name. What do “ family name and middle name” mean? Answer the questions Listen to the teacher Listen to the teacher Do what the teacher requires. Listen to the key words Catch the meanings Tell the meanings of the new words Answer the teacher’s questions. What’s your family name? What’s your middle name? III. Controlled-practice: 1. Listening practice: Asks the s.s to listen to the dial and answer the following questions a. What’s her family name? b. What’s her middle name Plays the tape twice. Calls on the s.s again and corrects 2. Pairwork: Asks the s.s to work in pairs to practice the dial above. Calls on some pairs of the students to present the dial before the class. Has them work in pairs to ask and answer the questions in the textbook. Calls on some pairs to ask and answer in front of the class. Corrects the mistakkes when necessary. 3. Group work: has them work in groups to discuss the missing words to fill in the dial of the section B2. Asks the s.s in each group to give the missing words for the blanks on the board. Corrects the mistakes when necessary. Asks them to practise the complete dial in pairs. Listen to the tape then answer the 2 questions Try to give the answers Work in pairs. Present the dial Work in pairs to ask and answer the questions in the textbook. Practice asking and answering before the class. S\discuss the missing words Write down the missing words on the board. Practice the dial. Do what the teacher required Write down the forms on the board. Fre-practice: Has the s.s workin pairs to ask for personal information to fill in the table / form Name: Age: Family name: Middle name: Address: Calls on 3 or 4 students to write down their forms on the board. V. Consolidation: Asks them some questions to get the main points of the lesson Who is she? What’s her name? What’s her family name? What’s her middle name? Where does she live? VI. Homework: (3’) Has them write a short passage/ introduction about a friend. Tell them to prepare next lesson “B4,5,6” Try to answer the questions given by the teacher Listen to the teacher Write down Remember: What’s your family name? Where do you live?
