Objectives: By the end of the lesson, students will be able to - Have a deeper glance at the measures that should be taken and achivements that the comprehensive renovation could bring to a country. - Be provided with a number of new useful words relating to the education, health care and agricalture sectors. II. Materials: Textbook, handout. III. Anticipated problems: SS may not have sufficient vocabulary to speak about the topic so T should be ready to help them. IV. Procedure: Stage and time Procedure Interaction Check-up 5’ - Ask Ss to go and write the new words in the previous lesson on the board. - Call on 1-2 Ss to read the passage. Individual work Warm-up 5’ Brain-storming. - Ask Ss make a list words by answering the question: In what scetors we feel the results of “Renovation”? Education administration health care Economy building Agriculture trade Entertainment - Introduce new lesson: Changes the new econimic reform has brought about. Whole class Pre-speaking 5’ Task1: - Ask Ss to look at the pictures in Task 1 and make comparison between picture 1a, 2a and 1b, 2b. - Ask Ss to work in pairs. - Go around and give help. Picture 1a and 2a: School and factory in these picture are bad and poor failities. Picture 1b and 2b: A more modern and better school is built, the shool becomes larger. In the factory, the infrastructure is improved. - Call on some Ss to present their ideas in front of the class. - Make comments and add some more comparison. Group 3: Agriculture S1: Fantasia has applied appropriate policy to encourage farmers to work more efficiently, and they have built more dykes and damps, irrigation and drainage systems. S2: They’ve also applied new and advanced farming techniques, more facilities and equipment. S3: They use fertilizers, pesticides and insecticides to protect their crops. Post speaking 9’ - Ask students to work individually to summarize what they’ve discussed in their own words. - Move round to check the activities and to make sure that students are working effectively. - Ask one or two students to report in front of the whole class. - Check and give remarks.
