Use: To talk about recent actions or unfinished actions - explains some more about the Present Perfect and the past participle * The Past Progressive Form: S + was/ were + V-ing . Use: + to talk about actions happening at a specific time in the past + to talk about an action happening in the past when another action interrupted (with when) + to talk about two actions happening at the same time in the past.
