Câu phát biểu : • Nguyên tắc chung : Khi chuyển sang câu tường thuật , ta theo các bước sau : - Bỏ dấu 2 ngoặc kép , dấu phẩy - Dổi ngôi : hãy dòch sang tiếng Việt để chuyển ngôi , tính từ sở hữu cũng vậy ( ngôi thou 3 thì giữ nguyên ) - Đổi động từ : lùi về một thì + simple present → simple past ( hiện tại → quá khứ ) + present continuous → past continuous + simple past Present perfect + Đối với động từ đặt biệt : Will → Would , can→ could / be able to , must → had to , must not→ was not to , + Trong lời nói trực tiếp có : Could , would , should , might , used to , ought to , would rather , had better thì giữ nguyên . - Trạng từ chỉ thời gian + This → that these → those ago → before here → there now → then today → that day yesterday → the day before / the previous day tomorrow → the day after / the following day next week → the week after / the following week last night → the night before Ex : He said , “ I am very hungry ” ( anh ấy nói “ Tôi đói quá ” ) → He said that he was very hungry (anh ấy nói rằng anh ấy đói quá ) Ex: John said to me , “ I saw Tom in my school yesterday ”, (Tôi gặp Tom ở trường của tôi vào ngày hôm qua → John told me that He had seen Tom in his school the day before (John nói với tôi rằng anh ấy gặp Tom ở trường của anh ấy vào ngày hôm qua II. Câu hỏi : Có 2 loại câu hỏi : 1. Câu hỏi Yes / No questions - Ta thêm IF / Whether vào trước lời nói gáin tiếp - Ta biến cấu trúc câu hỏi sang thể khẳng đònh ( S + V ) và bỏ dấu hỏi . Đổi thì và ngôi như trên . Ex :Mary said , “ Are you tired now , Tom ? ” ( Mary hỏi “ bạn có meat khộng Tom ? “ ) →Mary asked Tom If he was tired then ( Mary hỏi Tom là anh ấy có mệt hay không ) Ex : “ Did you go to the party last night ? ” → Mary asked Tom if he had gone to the party t he night before . 2. Câu hỏi WH – questions - Ta giữ lại các từ để hỏi ( Who , What , Where , Why , How …. ) → Past perfect - Ta biến cấu trúc câu hỏi sang thể khẳng đònh ( S + V ) và bỏ dấu hỏi . Đổi thì và ngôi như trên . Ex : “ Where do you live , Tom ? ” ( Mary hỏi “ bạn sống ở đâu , Tom ? “) → Mary asked Tom where he lived ( Mary hỏi Tom anh ấy sống ở đâu . III. Câu mệnh lệnh ( xác đònh và phủ đònh ) - Trong câu mệmh lệnh không đổi thì . Động từ của câu mệnh lệnh đổi sang To _infinitive - Các ngôi và tính từ sở hữu vẫn đổi bình thường .
