I don't often go out with my friends (Tôi không thường xuyên ngồi với bạn bè.) Cách sử dụng đơn Diễn tả hành động, việc diễn thường xuyên, lặp lặp lại hay thói quen Ví dụ: They drive to the office every day (Hàng ngày họ lái xe làm.) She doesn’t come here very often (Cô không đến thường xuyên.) Diễn tể thật hiển nhiên, chân lý Ví dụ: The sun rises in the East and sets in the West (Mặt trời mọc đằng Đông, lặn đằng Tây.) Đây thật hiển nhiên nên ta sử dụng đơn để diễn tả Chủ ngữ "the sun" (số ít, tương ứng với "ít") nên động từ "rise" "set" ta phải thêm "s" Diễn tả việc xảy xa theo lịch trình, thời gian biểu rõ ràng tàu, máy bay chạy Ví dụ: Christmas Day falls on a Monday this year (Năm Giáng sinh rơi vào ngày thứ Hai.) The flight starts at am tomorrow (Chuyến bay bắt đầu vào lúc 7h sáng ngày mai.) Diễn tả suy nghĩ, cảm xúc, cảm giác Ví dụ: I think he is a good boy (Tôi nghĩ cậu chàng trai tốt.) She feels very tired now (Bây cô cảm thấy mệt.) Ta thấy với chủ ngữ khác động từ "to be" chia khác 1.2.Câu phủ định I am not She/He/It/danh từ số + is not You/We/They/danh từ số nhiều + are not Chú ý viết tắt: - am not: khơng có dạng viết tắt - is not = isn't - are not = aren't Ví dụ: He (not be) isn’t my little brother (Cậu em trai tôi.) 1.3.Câu nghi vấn Are + you / we/They / danh từ số nhiều + ? Yes, I am / We are /They are No, I am not / We aren’t / They aren’t Is + He / She / It / danh từ số ? Yes, he/she/It +is No, he / she / It / + isn’t Chú ý : Trả lời No phải viết tắt Ví dụ: Are you Jananese? (Bạn người Nhật không vậy?) - No, I am not I'm Vietnamese (Không Tôi người Việt Nam.) Cấu trúc đơn với động từ thường 2.1.Câu khẳng định I / You / We / They / Danh từ số nhiều + V He / She / It / Danh từ số + V (s/es) CHÚ Ý: V : động từ nguyên thể / động từ giữ nguyên V (s/es) : động từ thêm ‘s’ ‘es’ Ví dụ:We go to school by bus everyday (Chúng đến trường xe buýt hàng ngày.) Quy tắc thêm "s" "es" sau động từ với chủ ngữ He / She / It / Danh từ số Thơng thường ta thêm "s" vào sau động từ Ví dụ: work - works read - reads like - likes dance - dances Những động từ tận bằng: -o; -sh; -s; -x; -sh; -z ( ông cháu sắm xe SH zét ) ta thêm "es" Ví dụ: miss - misses watch - watches wash - washes buzz - buzzes Những động từ tận "y": + Nếu trước "y" nguyên âm (a, e, i, o, u) - ta giữ nguyên "y" + "s" Ví dụ: play - plays; buy - buys; pay - pays + Nếu trước "y" phụ âm - ta đổi "y" thành "i" + "es" Ví dụ: fly - flies; cry - cries; fry - fries Trường hợp đặc biệt : have - has I /you/we/They/Danh từ số nhiều + have He/She/It/Danh từ số +has Ví dụ: She has three cats (Cơ có mèo.) 2.2.Câu phủ định I / You / We / They / Danh từ số nhiều+ don't + V (nguyên thể) He / She / It / Danh từ số + doesn’t + V ( nguyên thể ) Lưu ý: don't - not doesn't - does not Ví dụ: I don't usually go swimming (Tôi không thường xuyên bơi.) She doesn't like football (Cơ khơng thích bóng đá.) 2.3.Câu nghi vấn: Do + You / We /They / Danh từ số nhiều + V(nguyên thể)? Trả lời: Yes, I /we /they + No, I /we /they + don't Does + He / She / It / Danh từ số + V(nguyên thể ) ? Trả lời: Yes, He/she /It + does No, He /She /It + doesn't Ví dụ: Do you stay with your family? (Bạn có với gia đình khơng?) Yes, I do./ No, I don't (Có, tớ với gia đình./ Khơng, tớ không cùng.) Trong câu này, chủ ngữ "you" nên ta mượn trợ động từ "Do" đứng trước chủ ngữ, động từ "stay" dạng nguyên thể Does your mother like cooking? (Mẹ bạn có thích nấu ăn không?) Yes, she does./ No, she doesn't (Có, bà thích nấu ăn./ Khơng, bà khơng thích.)
