It’s definitely the kitchen, where our family gathers every evening to enjoy dinner after an arduous working day I always love the mouth-watering aroma of the food my mom cooks and cherish the time that I share with my family over the evening meal Is there anything you want to change in your house? Actually, I haven’t ever thought about that, but if I could change one thing, I would paint my room yellow and draw a picture on the wall At the moment, it’s painted pink but I have got tired of this color now Are there many parks in your country? I’m not too sure about the whole country, but here in the crowded capital, there are several parks with large lakes, providing green spaces for people who want to escape from the hustle and bustle of city life So, I guess we have a lot of parks in all the big cities across the country What people often in public parks in your country? Well, generally, people go there to get away from the crowds and enjoy the fresh air They can many types of activities such as going jogging, cycling, taking exercise, just sitting on a bench watching the world go by, or even dating How often you go to public parks? Well, it depends For instance, if I finish my work early, I will go to the park near my office to a bit of jogging and relax Otherwise, I usually go home and put my feet up However, I’m trying to keep the routine of going jogging in the park at least once a week to stay fit Are the activities you in the park now different from what you did in the past? Yes, they have changed, obviously When I was a kid, I only saw the park as a playground where I could play on the merry-go-round with my friends However, now I go there mostly to take exercise and enjoy the peace and tranquility What did you often in public parks when you were a child? When I was a toddler, my parents took me to the park every weekend to play with the other kids As far as I can recollect, the thing I liked the most was to play on the merry-go-round, slide and seesaw When I was a bit older, I used to play football in the park with my friends Part Describe one of your best friends who you share a lot of moments with ANSWER I would like to describe my best friend, Huong, whom I have known for roughly 10 years I first met her at primary school when she was my classmate At first, she was quite shy and did not want to talk with anyone, which made me feel that she was a bit proud However, when we became close friends, she was more sociable and amiable We have done a lot of things together Studying at the same schools, we have various mutual friends So, we usually throw parties at the weekends or have a picnic together Besides, whenever I get into trouble, I turn to her for help For example, I remember when I got bad marks in the mock university entrance exam, she consoled me and then we studied together until the official exam took place Finally, we had the opportunity to study at our favorite college At present, despite the fact that we have different plans and goals to pursue, I believe that we will be best friends for good and we will try our best to maintain this relationship VOCABULARY  roughly: [adverb] approximately, but not exactly Example: In the exam, I wrote roughly 300 words for my essay  close friends: [expression] friends who know each other very well and like each other a lot Example: Close friends usually share the same interests and have no secrets from each other  amiable: [adjective] pleasant and easy to like Example: Our form teacher is very amiable and we all enjoy the relaxed atmosphere in her classes  mutual friends: [expression] friends which are shared by two or more people Example: Although we had not met before, when we started chatting, we discovered that we had some mutual friends  throw parties: [expression] give parties Example: Some Hollywood film stars throw parties which hundreds of people attend  consoled: [verb] gave sympathy to someone who is unhappy Example: After the team lost the match, the coach consoled the players and told them that they had played well  for good: [expression] permanently Example: I decided to leave New York for good and move to Europe  try our best: as much as possible to achieve something Example: Although we tried our best, we failed the exam Part 3: Do you agree with the opinion: "family is much more important than friends"? Well, I agree with this idea, because for me, the family is irreplaceable Members of a family share the same blood and are have an unbreakable bond with each other, which outsiders can never feel I think the ties of kinship are stronger than any other relationships, and no matter how far apart you are, this connection can’t be erased… For instance, parents always give their children unconditional love and support them wholeheartedly… and although siblings may fight, they’ll definitely stick up for each other if one is threatened in any way What is the difference between the friendship of men-men and womenwomen? Obviously, there are several recognizable dissimilarities here The most significant one might be that while male friendships are normally based on shared activities, especially sports, such as football, baseball or tennis, female friendships tend to be more emotional as they often share their feelings with each other In addition, when it comes to arguments, men are the ones who find it easier to settle them physically, whereas it takes longer for women to make up with each other again after a disagreement Do you think the friendship between men-men lasts longer than that of women? Well, actually I don’t think so Although the way men and women treat their same-sex friends is quite different, I suppose that the length of a friendship truly depends on the personalities of each person in the relationship, and how much they understand each other, rather than the gender For example, I have some intimate friends who I’ve known for over 10 years and our friendship is still going strong and they have really become my soulmates So, I believe that friendships among girls can also last a lifetime Do you think bosses and employees can be friends? Yes, I think it’s possible that the relationships between bosses and employees can be developed further than just workplace relationships When the manager and the employee understand and work well with each other, especially if they are of the same generation, they can easily become friends, of course, outside the company As people simply make friends when they find the similarities between their souls, bosses and employees are no exception However, in my opinion, they should keep an appropriate distance at work so as to their jobs effectively VOCABULARY (FOR PART & PART 3) Word(s) terraced house storey arduous involving a lot of effort and energy, especially over a period of time food that looks or smells so good that you want to eat it immediately a pleasant, noticeable smell mouthwatering aroma cherish hustle bustle Meaning a house that is one of a row of houses that are joined together on each side a level of a building; a floor to love somebody/something very much and want to remember them or it always and busy noisy activity of a lot of people in one place get away from to escape from somebody or a place watch the to look at people as they go world go by past 10 put my feet up sit down and relax Example He’s living in a terraced house in the suburbs My room is on the upper storey of the house He’s just finished an arduous journey across the Andes A mouth-watering display of cakes was put on the table A delicious aroma was coming from the kitchen He cherishes the memories of his happy childhood We escaped from the hustle and bustle of the city for the weekend I won't be able to get away from the office before I love to sit by my window and just watch the world go by After a hard day at work, I love to get home, switch on the 11 routine 12 playground 13 14 15 16 17 18 19 20 21 the normal order and way in which you regularly things TV and put my feet up We are trying to get the baby into a routine for feeding and sleeping Children are playing at the playground an outdoor area where children can play, especially at a school or in a park toddler a very young child When I was a toddler of about years old, my sister used to take me to the park recollect to remember something, She could no longer especially by making an effort recollect the details of to remember it the letter irreplaceable too valuable or special to be These pictures are replaced irreplaceable kinship the fact of being related in a Kinship is the most family basic principle of organizing individuals into social groups, roles and categories wholeheartedly completely, in an enthusiastic She threw herself way wholeheartedly into her work siblings brothers and sisters In the story, the prince has two siblings – both of them sisters stick up for to support or defend Don't worry—I'll somebody/yourself/something stick up for you when it comes as for something; speaking When it comes to to about a particular topic chess, John’s an expert settle to put an end to an argument It's time you settled or a disagreement 22 make up with to become friends again after a disagreement about something 23 intimate having a close and friendly relationship 24 going strong remaining strong 25 soulmate a person that you have a special friendship with because you understand each other’s feelings and interests 26 keep distance to maintain a respectful or cautious distance from someone or something your differences with your father After an argument with my friend, we made up with each other and went out for a meal We're not on intimate terms with our neighbours His love for his wife is still going strong after 50 years of marriage She’s my soulmate and the best friend that I have in all the world Keep your distance from the fire ...
