Chuyên đề 7: GERUND(danh động từ:V-ing) AND INFINITIVES( to inf:nguyên mẫu có to)

I To infinitive : động từ nguyên mẫu có to: to-inf= to do

1 Chỉ mục đích (to=để= so as to = in order to):

S + V + in order for S.O to-inf

so as to -inf

2 have/has S.T(anything/something) to do S.T (có cái gì để làm)

3 S/It + be+ Adj + to-inf

S + V + adj/adv enough (for O )+to- inf

5 It + takes/took + (O người) + t/gian + to inf

6 S+ get/got + object ( chỉ người ) + to- inf

7 Sau thể BĐ( có đủ be và V3/ed) +to-inf

8 S+ find/found + it + Adj+ to-inf

9 Sau số thứ tự : the first/ the second/the third / the only +to-inf

10 Sau từ để hỏi( what/how/where ) +to-inf

- expect : trông đợi

- instruct : chỉ dẫn

- persuade : thuyết phục

- remind : nhắc lại

- urge : thúc giục, thuyết phục

II Gerund: V-ing (Danh động từ: vừa là động từ(V) vừa là danh từ (N))

1 Sau giới từ( in/on/at/for/of/with ) + V-ing

2.Sau liên từ: before, after, while (Nếu sau các từ này không có chủ ngữ) + V-ing

3 Ving Làm chủ ngữ ở đầu câu hoặc làm danh từ (tân ngữ)

Ex: My hobby is swimming ( gerund )

4 V-ing Làm chủ ngữ ở đầu câu: thì chia V ít

Vd: Drinking milk is good for you.

5 Sau there is no use, there is no good/ it’s not worth / there’s no point in: vô ích

can’t stand / can’t bear / can’t help : không thể chịu được

6 Thành lập noun compound ( danh từ kép )

N + V-ing child bearing

V-ing + N  flying machine

7 go+ V-ing

Go shopping: đi mua sắm

Go fishing: đi câu cá

Go skiing: đi trượt tuyết

Go swimming: đi bơi

8 Các từ theo sau phải là V-ing

- admit : thừa nhận

- appreciate : đánh giá cao

- avoid : tránh

III Các dạng dễ gây nhầm lẫn:

1 begin, start, continue/ love/ like + To- inf /V – ing

2 Forget, remember, regret: +to- inf  chưa xảy ra ở tương lai ( dùng để nhắc nhở: khi ko có S)

+V – ing  đã xảy ra ở quá khứ

3 Stop to- inf  ngừng việc đang làm để làm việc khác rồi tí nữa tiếp tục(tạm thời)

V – ing :  ngừng việc đang làm(lâu dài: smoking: bỏ thuốc, talking:ngừng nói chuyện)

4 Try to- inf : cố gắng( study)

V – ing : thử

5 S( người) + need + to-inf( cần :Chủ động)

S(người) + don’t/doesn’t/didn’t need + to-inf (ko cần) V thường

S(vật) + need + V-ing/ to be V3/ed( cần được :bị động)

S + needn’t +Vbare (không cần) Vđb

6 Would you mind + V- ing?

Would you mind if + S + V2/ed …?

7 Advise, allow, permit O + to- inf ( có O chia nguyên mẫu có to)

Recommend, encourage,require

 + V- ing( ko có O chia V-ing)

Be + Advised, allowed, permitted, Recommended, encouraged,required +to-inf

8 Prefer: + V-ing to V-ing:thích cái gì hơn cái gì

Would prefer + to inf: thích cái gì đó

9 Feel like + V-ing: thích cái gì đó

Would like+ to inf: thích

Dislike + V-ing; ko thích

13 go on: + to-inf: làm tiếp 1 việc khác sau khi làm xong 1 việc gì đó

go on + V-ing: tiếp tục làm việc đang làm

Vd: go on to paint the fence when you have repaired the roof

IV Vbare( nguyên mẫu ko to)

1 theo sau trợ động từ thường: do, does, did

2 theo sau động từ khiếm khuyết:

Modal verbs: Động từ khiếm khuyết + Vbare Nghĩa

( could là quá khứ của can)

3 theo sau tân ngữ của các động từ sau( V+ S.O + do S.T)

- let (cho phép)

- have( nhờ ai, thuê ai) + O người+ Vbare

- make( khiến)

-help( giúp đỡ)

4 theo sau nhóm động từ nhận thức tri giác:

- see/saw( nhìn)/hear/heard (nghe)/feel/smell/ watch (xem)/ notice (chú ý)/catch/caught+ O+ Vbare:thấy toàn bộ

- see/saw/hear/heard /feel / smell/smelt/watch (xem)/ notice (chú ý)/catch/caught + O + V-ing: khi thấy 1 phần

5 BỊ ĐỘNG:

- nếu đã xảy ra ở quá khứ:

+ having V3/ed(đã)

+ to have V3/ed

*Viết lại câu liên quan đến V-ing, to-inf

1 S+ suggested +V_ing( đề nghị)

→ S+ suggested +that+ S + should + Vbare

Vd: She suggested taking a rest

→ She suggested that they take a rest

2 It +takes/took + O(người) + t/gian + to_inf (mất ai đó bao lâu để làm gì)

→ S(người) +spend/spent + t/gian+ (on)+ V_ing

Vd: It took him ten days to finish the work

→ He spent ten days on finishing the work

3 get +O (người)+ to_inf+ O vật (nhờ ai) = get/have +O(vật) +V3/ed+ by O người

have+ O(người) + Vbare

vd: I get the man to wash my car

→ I get my car washed by the man

4 It is kind/nice of s.o+ to inf( bạn thật tốt bụng)

= Snguoi+be+ kind/nice + to inf

vd: it is kind of you to give me money

→ You are kind to give me money

5 S+ should/ought to/ had better +Vbare

→ It’s time for O(người) to_inf (Đã tới lúc)

→ It’s time+ S+ V2/ed

Vd: You should go to bed

→ It’s time for you to go to bed

→ It’s time you went to bed

6 S+ V+ allow + O + to-inf

→ S+let +O + Vbare < cho phép ai làm gì>

Vd: My mother allows me to eat out → my mother lets me eat out

7 S+ find/found+ it+ easy/dificult + to-inf

→ S+ find+ no difficulty/ ease in+ V-ing < nhận thấy khó/ dễ làm gì đó…>

" S+ be + not used to +V-ing

" S+ have trouble/problem/difficulty in +V-ing

Vd: Carol finds it easy to make friends

→ Caral finds no dificulty in making friends

" Carol is not used to making friends

" Carol has difficulty in making friends

8 Remember + to-inf → Don't forget to-inf( nhớ= đừng quên)
