Having a lot of gossip - Job doesn’t match description Bad manager: - No motivation for employee In order to better understand the reasons and the root cause of the problems, I further continued the in-depth interviews and provided more specific and clear explanations and synthesized as follows There are four factors affects to high turnover that are work stress, bad manager of work, low salary and lack of trust in organization They was explained such as: 1.2.1 Work stress: The factors lead to stress of work what collected from interviews with 03 main reason such as over worked individual, no growth opportunities and undervalued Over worked individual: high workloads make staff feel tired leading to stress and layoffs Overload is caused by poor working skills, lack of experience factors lead to this because they not receive coaching and training from their manager or from the company – Planning & investing manager, Deputy C&B manager said No growth opportunities: Most of employee desires the opportunity to develop a career so when no growth opportunity not their expectation and that is why they give up the company For PVTrans young & inexperienced staff is very difficult to have development opportunities – Deputy C&B manager said Undervalued: When employees try to work without recognized manager they will quickly because they think it is unfair The cause of this is due to the company's assessment system is incorrect performance appraisal - Planning & investing manager, Deputy C&B manager and Accountant staff said 1.2.2 Bad manager of work: There are two factors affect such as No employee empowerment: Manager does not give employee empowerment to do, causing difficulties and obstacles to employees during the work process leading to depressed and dismissed employees The cause of this is the manager has poor manager people skill – Deputy insurance manager, deputy C&B manager said No motivation for employee: Managers always give their employees stressors that not motivate employees make them give up their work The cause of this is the manager has poor manager people skill - Interviewee: I’m Tu Now, I work as a deputy C&B manager at Head office in PVTrans Corp Interviewer: Can you tell me something about your job? Interviewee: My job is to be in charge of C & B work I have been doing this job for more than 10 years now and I have direct employees Our main duties are to manage, monitor and evaluate the C & B work of the member units and approve the head office salary in PVTRANS and member units This task requires a good grasp of production and business activities of the unit and at the same time must regularly study and grasp the regulations on policies and regimes of the State and the Vietnam Oil and Gas Corporation Interviewer: What time you start and finish working daily? Interviewee: The working time of the company is from 8.00 AM to 12.00 AM and from 1.30 PM to 5.00 PM But I usually go to my company at 7.30 AM and come back home at 6.30 PM Interviewer: What time for lunch? Interviewee: I always work overtime because my department has a lot of work so all most of people come back their homes later Interviewer: Have you ever been work stress? Interviewee: Yes, I have been stressed since I was promoted to deputy C&B manger in my department Interviewer: What causes you stress at work and why? Interviewee: The reasons make me stress of work such as: I always have over workload and my manager is not good I have to work from hours to 10 hours per day but never finish work and my manager doesn’t motivate for me and never give empowerment or growth opportunities for me I think I was undervalued Interviewer: Do you think work stress effect your work performance? Interviewee: Work stress effect so much to my performance I lost motivation in my work and I can’t finish my work better Sometimes, I have to go to coffee alone to reduce stress, I think it very difficult to work when I felt comfortable or so stress Interviewer: Are you happy with your current salary? Interviewee: when I start working in my company I meet a little bit difficult with my colleagues such as teamwork, no get support from colleagues but now we understand each other and they support me a lot of my work Interviewer: What you expect from your manager/director or company?
