accordance with AS/NZS 3191 other than the ‘light duty’ type, and sheathed neutral-screened cables in accordance with AS/NZS 3155 are deemed to provide double insulation between the conductors of the cable and any metal in contact with the cable The use of flexible cords of the ‘light duty’ type as supply flexible cords is covered in equipment Standards Delete the NOTE to Item (d) and insert the following: NOTE: Aerial bundled cables in accordance with AS/NZS 3560.1 are deemed to provide reinforced insulation provided they meet the requirements for reinforced insulation detailed in AS/NZS incorporated in the sheathing of a multicore cable with live conductors shall be used only for the earthing of electrical equipment, including the earthing contacts of socket-outlets, supplied through the associated live conductors (b) Cables in conduit Any protective earthing conductor laid-up with live conductors within a conduit run shall only be used for the earthing of electrical equipment, including the earthing contacts of socket-outlets, supplied through the associated live conductors AMDT No SEPT 2001 Page 154 Clause 5.7.3.5 Delete the Clause and insert the following: 5.7.3.5 Unprotected consumers mains Where consumers mains are not protected on the supply side by shortcircuit protective devices any exposed conductive parts associated with the consumers mains such as — (a) neutral conductor or bar; or (ii) main earthing terminal/connection or bar NOTE: Clause 5.6.5.2 requires the size of the MEN link to be not less than the cross-sectional area of the main neutral baths/showers; no specific degree of protection in other locations AMDT No SEPT 2001 Page 170 Clause 7.1.4.2 Delete the Clause and insert the following: 7.1.4.2 Socket-outlets Socket-outlets shall not be installed within 0.3 m of the floor of a bathroom, laundry or other similar location where the floor is likely to become wet In addition, and not withstanding the degree of protection required, the following conditions shall apply to the installation of socket-outlets in the classified zones: (a) (b) In Zones and socket-outlets shall not be permitted In Zone 2, socket-outlets shall not be distribution or use on network prohibited (ii) are enclosed in a cupboard provided that the enclosure is maintained during the normal operation of the connected equipment; or (iii) have automatic switching and are incorporated in a shaver supply unit complying with AS/NZS 3194 (c) In Zone 3, socket-outlets shall not be permitted unless they are — (i) protected by a residual-current device with a maximum rated residual current of 30 mA; or (ii) supplied individually as a separated circuit in accordance with Clause 1.7.4.5; or (iii) supplied as an SELV or PELV system in accordance with Clause 7.7 AMDT No SEPT 2001 Page 170 Clause 7.1.4.3 Delete the Clause and insert the following: 7.1.4.3 Switches and other accessories Switches and other accessories shall not be installed within 0.3 m of the floor of a bathroom, laundry or other place where the floor is likely to become wet In addition the following conditions shall apply to the installation of switches and other accessories in the classified zones: (a) (b) In Zone 0, switches and other accessories shall not be permitted In Zones and 2, switches and other accessories with at least the required degree of protection shall be
