MY CLASS Objective: To learn a new shape (circle), to say a chant Vocabulary: circle, in TPR: clap, make a circle, shake arms, race a circle - - - - - 5’: Warm up 5’: Game: Pass the crayons o Arrange children in a circle and give each of them a different colored crayon Make sure that only one of the color is red o Teacher say: Pass the crayons The children have to pass in the same direction until teacher say: “Stop!” o Teacher ask: “Who has have the red crayon?” The children hold it up and say “Red crayon” 5’: Introduce the shape o Draw circle and say o Make a big circle and encourage children join in and say: Make circle o Call the volunteer to find circle in classroom o Find a circle in page 17 and tell children to make a circle with their arms 10’: Circle chant Arms ready? (shake arms) Make a circle High, high, high (make a circle high in the air) Make a circle Low, low, low (make a circle low in the air) Make a circle Big, big, big (make a big circle in the air) Make a circle Small, small, small (trace a small circle in the air) Then clap! (clap) No more circle o Sammy is IN the circles at the bottom of the page Say IN! 10’: TPR March o Have the children stand around in a circle o Play Circle chant and have the children turn to the right and march to the music o Stop the music and call out the action (hands up, wave, dance, jump, walk, sit down, stand up, hands down, make a circle, clap) Finish with goodbye song
