adverbs * An adverb is a word that tells us more about a verb.                                                                                                         * It tells more about any word - other than a noun.  * It usually answers the question 'how', 'where', or 'when' * Examples: John speaks loudly (How does John speak?)     Mary lives locally (Where does Mary live?)     She never smokes (When does she smoke?) * Many adverbs end in -ly but not always (well, fast, very, never, always, often, still) C omplete the following sentences using adverbs They laughed (happy) The dog ran (quick) Ruth solved the problem (easy) Bob spoke about his new job (dramatic) She is always dressed (beautiful) You are writing too (slow) She spoke about him (nice) I think you are working (hard) He drives very (careful) 10 His temperature went up (fast) F ill in with the correct form: adjective or adverb The movie had a ending (comic) She will get home (short) I hope she will drive (careful) She described the accident (dramatic) We studied for the test (hard) Do you think you could drive more ?
