A doll?) After that, the teacher introduces Perry to all kids and asks everybody’s names (5 minutes) 2) Hello Song (5 minutes) 3) Blind Man’s Buff: kids take turns to have their eyes covered with a scarf and guess who’s tapping their back (Is it Javier? Yes/No, etc) (5-10 minutes) Vocabulary-introduction 4) Perry has another surprise for the children: his friend, Baloo the Bear (the carton craft) Unfortunately, Baloo the Bear has all its body parts apart The teacher asks the children to put all the parts of Baloo the Bear together and introduces body parts: head, arms, hands, legs, feet (5-10 minutes) 5) A video: Magic English 13(My Body) 01: 56-05.56 New expressions: Move your arms, move your legs, move your body, clap your hands, tap your feet Children watch a short video in which Monkey, Baloo and monkeys are dancing After that, they have to repeat the new words (5 minutes) Vocabulary-consolidation 6) Flashcard game: Slap it (5 minutes) Children sit in a circle on the floor, with all the flashcards inside the circle When the teacher says a word, children have to slap the corresponding card The first kid to slap the card is the winner However, if children slap the wrong card, they get penalty points: a yellow card and, then, a red card With a red card a player is out of the game The pupil that collects most cards wins the game 7) Flashcard race (5-10 minutes) Children stand on one side of the classroom, the teacher puts the flashcards on the other When the teacher says a word, the children have to run and pick up the corresponding card If children pick up the wrong card, they get penalty points: a yellow card and, then, a red card With a red card a player is out of the game The teacher mixes “run” with other verbs: crawl, walk, jump The pupil that collects most cards wins the game 8) Flashcard game: The Memory Game (5-10 minutes) The teacher makes a copy of all the flashcards and puts them all on the floor face down Children sit around the cards and take turns to search for the right pair Everytime they pick up a card, they have to name it The pupil that collects most cards wins the game 9) Dice game (5-10 minutes) The teacher assigns each body part a number Each students takes a sheet of paper and a pencil Teams take turns to roll a dice and draw the part of the body that corresponds a number The first team to draw a complete body wins the game 10) Feet/fingers game (5 minutes) 11) Children stand in a row next to the rope Right side is for feet, left side is for fingers The teacher shouts the words, the children have to jump to the corresponding sites The game is tricky; if the teacher says fingers when the children are on the left side, they cannot move If a pupil makes a mistake, they are out of the game 12) Perry says (5 minutes) Before the game, the teacher reviews with the children the new expressions “move your arms, move your legs, move your body, clap your hands, tap your feet” The teacher says to the class “Perry says: move your legs/clap your hands…” Children have to repeat the right orders Story time 13) Puzzles (5 minutes) Children get puzzles to The outcome is a story about Mowgli, Baloo and the monkey 14) The story-listening (10 minutes) Children listen to the story Then, they repeat the words 15) Roleplay (15-20 minutes) Children work in groups of 3, taking turns to act out the story as Mowgli, Baloo and the monkey Read and write 16) Read and write (15 minutes) Children get three worksheets to work with They have to read words body parts in English and draw the corresponding body parts, colour the body parts with right colours, etc 17) Project: I’m a monster (20-25 minutes) Children imagine that they have become monsters They draw their monsters, describe them with the teacher’s help (I’ve got two arms, a head, etc.) After that, they present their work in front of the class Dance and play 18) Children learn to sing and dance new songs related to body parts: Hockey Pockey, Head, Shoulders, Knees& Toes, and My Body (15-20 minutes) Before each song, they learn new expressions and revise the vocabulary necessary for the song 19) Penalty goals (15 minutes) The teacher makes a goal out of two chairs and chooses a pupil to be a goalkeeper He/she places on the wall a big score board with all pupils’ names Pupils can answer the teacher’s questions for point (name a body part) or points (name an expression teacher’s miming) If their answer is correct, they can score a goal and gain a point The first pupil to score 10 points wins the game 20) Goodbye song (5 minutes)
