Teachers Notes: I’ve adapted this from an exercise that a teacher gave me You can use to practise comparatives, conditionals perfect tenses etc Explain the end of the world is nigh etc Handout info and ask questions about it e.g what does the pilot have to do? What is the problem with the helicopter etc? Elicit phrases for debating, comparing, agreeing and disagreeing etc Put into or groups Hand out people cards you’ll need or three copies of this I’ve got soe already laminated if you don’t have time Hand out work sheet but it takes a long time so you could just get them to choose and think of reasons why Next stage you could either way Re group them i.e group 111 group 222 group 333 into 123 123 123 or a class debate which will be quicker This part is to practice perfect tenses which you could skip if you wanted to use this for another class Students choose characters from the final and write a short description of them using the all the perfect tenses e.g Ajita has been an alcoholic for a long time, before that she had been a well respected biologist, in year she will have been sober for 11 months I’m sure you can come up with better example sentences!!
