objectives are for self-defense,
combat, spiritual, physical and
mental education, health and
fitness, beside using flexibility,
intelligence and timing rather
than strength It is created by a
Japanese teacher, Jigoro Kano,
in 1882.
Judoka is the person
who practices Judo on a square mat
(Tatami) with the dimensions 14 x 14
meters The match takes place in 8 x 8 meters to 10 x 10 meters zone within this larger area The surrounding space acts as a
safety area S/he wears Judogi which is first created in 1907 and it is made up of jacket, belt and trousers; one Judoka wears a white Judogi while the other wears a blue one
Jigoro Kano created a rank (Level) system, in 1883, for this sport
which identifies the degree of a student by a
colored belt This system is separated into Kyu
and Dan grades The later has 10 grades but the
former has 6 grades In addition, this rank system
of belt is mostly used for all the martial arts sport

63-70 kg);Half Middleweight(M 73-81 kg/W 57-63 kg) ; Lightweight(M 66-73 kg/W 52-57 kg); Half Lightweight(M 60-66 kg/W 48-52 kg); Extra Lightweight ( M-60 kg/W -48 kg)
