in the middle of the Pacific Ocean, between Hawaii and New Zealand

Right now, I’m reading about the history of the islands The Cook Islanders were brilliant sailors and travelled huge distances

in small boats The islands are named after British Captain James Cook He sailed around them in the 1770s but he wasn’t the first European there Two Spanish explorers came before him: Alvaro de Mendana in
