How much/ How many? We use “How much” to ask about the quantity of uncountable nous(e.g How much coffee have we got left?) , but we use “How many” to ask about countable nouns(e.g How many tomatoes are there in the fridge?) Some and any Some and any can be used both with countable and uncountable nouns Some can only be used in affirmative sentences(eg We’ve got some bread left) while any can be used in negative and interrogative sentences(Is there any bread left?/ there isn’t any bread left) Be careful! “Some” can be used in an interrogative sentence if this is a polite offer or request(eg Would you like some biscuits?)
