of experience, Lectra offers DiaminoFashion V6R1 with its all-new "MarkerManager" application that allows you to concentrate on added-value tasks DiaminoFashion V6R1 offers you: • Improved collaboration that strengthens the value chain A new module revolutionizes data preparation and use times "MarkerManager" module allows you to: − Define Marker-Making constraints more simply − Automate marker creation tasks (sheet) − View, monitor, check markers and their statuses − Use and post-process batch markers − Generate prepared information reports This new application strengthens communications significantly, eliminates tasks that have no added value and spectacularly increases the productivity of users who are thus able to focus on what they best • Greater control of quality, style and associated costs for products using patterned and/or printed fabrics In addition to "MarkerManager," Lectra has improved collaboration between the material design department and marker-making teams The new "Background image" function allows you to better position the pieces in relation to each other for patterned or printed fabrics Using this new approach along with Modaris®, you define and control the position of motifs throughout your development and manufacturing process, from virtual 3D rendering to mass production Starting with the design and pattern-making phase, you control the impact of a fabric design modification on your material consumption • The ability to focus on your added value by automating new tasks Taking into account new marker-making constraints allows you to increase the usage rate of the automatic module over interactive marker-making Thus you can focus your efforts on markers that cannot be automated This new feature allows Diamino® users to concentrate on other tasks the machine works for you • New material savings In order to take your financial constraints in terms of cost and time into account, the automatic marker-making module continues to advance by offering the greatest efficiency on the market Lectra.com 4/17 DIAMINOFASHION V6R1 Release Notes A NEW ERGONOMIC AND COLLABORATIVE APPLICATION The new "MarkerManager" application enables you to share information more easily and improves your efficiency It simplifies the most common tasks; you can effectively focus on your area of expertise 1.1 General ergonomics 1.1.1 General Studied by specialist ergonomists, the new "MarkerManager" application was fully designed to simplify its use Special attention was given to user comfort with innovative backgrounds and a perfect balance of text and graphics 1.1.2 Task-focused workshops "MarkerManager" is broken down into tabs Each one is dedicated to a specific task: constraint definition, marker creation, marker sheet creation, marker list creation for automatic processing or postprocessing Lectra.com 5/17 DIAMINOFASHION V6R1 Release Notes 1.1.3 The common task bar On this bar you will find shortcuts to your favorite folders, your general preferences, as well as access to on-line help Accessible functions depend on the context in which you work For example, in the "Marker" tab you will find an icon for marker creation, for opening a marker, for marker model preferences, for updating a selected marker as well as creating one Above this generic bar, the processing panel provides access to the processing and postprocessing functions available in each workshop: • Interactive processing • Automatic processing • Post-processing: − Plotting − Generation of HPGL file − Generation of Cutfile − Generation of marker in DXF format • Marker report − Configurable printing − File (text or Xml format) 1.1.4 General preferences The "general preferences" menu allows you to configure and define certain adjustments for exports and post-processing, thumbnail generation, the choice of a predefined icon and also units, a new feature of version All units are now configurable and customizable depending on the context in which they are used Lectra.com 6/17 DIAMINOFASHION V6R1 Release Notes 1.1.5 Advanced online help A contextual online help was created to guide the user and it does so explicitly, thus ensuring fast integration On-line help has the classic search tools as well as a glossary to help you With this online help you can also directly access the explanation of a specific function simply by pointing to it 1.1.6 Standard shortcut keys To increase your productivity, the main standard Windows® shortcut keys have been integrated into the "MarkerManager" software (CTRL-X, CTRL-C, CTRL-V, etc.) You will also notice that it has the editing functions "Undo" (CTRL-Z) and "Redo" (CTRL-Y) 1.1.7 Piloted mode To guarantee continuity with the different versions of Diamino, the user interface of Diamino® version (this application is now called "MarkerMaking" has been kept for processing activities When the "MarkerMaking" module is in “independent” mode, the user selects the marker to process When it is “piloted” by the "MarkerManager" module, "MarkerMaking" receives a list of markers to be processed called the “Work list" The user's work process remains fluid, re-entry of information is no longer necessary, avoiding many sources of errors 1.2 "Contraints" Workshop Constraint creation has been seriously reworked to make it easy to use Graphic elements allow you to see them more easily at three levels: • Fabric You may notice that notch protection adjustment can now be found in fabric constraints and no longer in the solution's general preferences Lectra.com 7/17 DIAMINOFASHION V6R1 Release Notes • Variant • Type of piece The user’s work is much easier: − Constraints are now shown with explicit icons rather than defined by numerical values (V5) − Variants and pieces analytical codes are recovered by selecting the model 1.3 "Marker" Workshop 1.3.1 Marker creation The “Marker” workshop is divided into sections: Lectra.com 8/17 DIAMINOFASHION V6R1 Release Notes • Characteristics and/or motif The creation of a marker or a characteristics marker model (already present in version in the “Marker Creator” application) has been improved to prevent input errors Attributes like "fabric type," "fabric name" are no longer input manually but by selection, limiting the risk of error • Composition To define the content of each marker, selectors allow you to access the variants and their grading systems (size/special gradings) • Results You access a thumbnail representing the marker (you can configure its resolution) as well as analytical data (length, efficiency, etc.) 1.3.2 The selector A new, advanced file selector was developed to prevent any waste of time by the user There are two different areas: the file selector and a detail of the file selected The file selector has three modes: • Simple • Advanced: the columns can be sorted using information relating to the markers themselves, their composition and thumbnails, but also creation and modification dates (see above) Lectra.com 9/17 DIAMINOFASHION V6R1 Release Notes • Graphic 1.4 "Sheet" Workshop The sheet workshop is certainly the one that saves the most time It has automated features that make it very productive It is characterized by two sections: • Composition section • Thumbnails section Lectra.com 10/17 DIAMINOFASHION V6R1 Release Notes 1.4.1 Composition When creating a new sheet, markers can be created "on the fly" Various automated features allow you to save precious time When you create a new marker sheet, you can: • Create one-size markers (preferably having associated a model and one or more variants with the sheet) • Automatically name the markers created according to your own criteria (with configurable fields) • Insert the existing markers (selector identical to that of the Marker workshop) • Insert markers defined in an automatic processing list The display is configurable and adapts to the user profile depending on whether you are in creation, control or printing mode with configurable columns: The sheet can be printed directly or exported in CSV format to be integrated, for example, into an Excel® sheet On this sheet, several attributes are accessible, particularly "status." A green button allows you to immediately check that the current markers have been processed and thus monitor the progress of your work Lectra.com 11/17 DIAMINOFASHION V6R1 Release Notes 1.4.2 Thumbnails Results can be used in several forms: • An overall view of the thumbnails of all the markers (configurable thumbnail size) • As in the Marker workshop, graphic and quantitative results of a selected marker 1.5 "Auto List" Workshop This workshop allows you to define the lists and batches of the markers that will be processed automatically Here again, special care has been taken with ergonomics and includes sections: general, advanced options, as well as composition of the selected list You can record the models on your list so that they can be reused for maximum productivity Lectra.com 12/17 DIAMINOFASHION V6R1 Release Notes OPTIMUM MANAGEMENT OF PATTERNED AND PRINTED FABRICS In order to manage as precisely as possible the relative and absolute positions of the pieces in relation to a pattern or a print, the user can now display an image showing the fabric in the background This new function brings several benefits that are related to increased quality, in particular: • Controlling the position of a piece in relation to a line or a check before cutting • Identifying the proper position of a piece for an additional cut (if a piece needs to be recut) • Checking the position of symmetrical pieces on fabrics with non-repetitive motifs But it is a tool that can also enable you to limit costs by influencing the design of a fabric to increase the efficiencies obtained when the pieces are nested Lectra.com 13/17 DIAMINOFASHION V6R1 Release Notes 2.1 Image adjustment When importing the image (jpg, bmp formats supported), there are several possible adjustments available to you: brightness, contrast, a selection area, rotation, number of repetitions (vertical and horizontal), their steps, offsets and the position of the first motif (offset, centering on the width, etc.): 2.2 The "Mosaic" process With this new function, you can transform images into wefts motif to enable you to use the "Mosaic" process that allows you to take into account distortions of your motifs during cutting NEW CONSTRAINTS THAT MAKE AUTOMATION MORE ATTRACTIVE One of the objectives of this version that uses the automatic module more frequently than the interactive is to free up users' time for tasks that have greater added value In this new version, new constraints have therefore been implemented that allow for intensive use of the automatic module 3.1 Quality zones Quality zones can now be defined as constraints They can be defined to contain complete variants or types of particular pieces (by analytical code) These "quality zones" serve several purposes • The most common is with regard to dye variations that may often appear all along the width of a roll • This function also enables us to solve unloading problems when this constraint is associated with groups, therefore same-size pieces may end up in the same zone The zones necessarily define horizontal bands and they can be unlimited in number Lectra.com 14/17 DIAMINOFASHION V6R1 Release Notes 3.1.1 By variant In these conditions, each variant is necessarily in the same predefined zone: + ⇒ 3.1.2 By piece type You can attribute quality class (from A to D) to specific zones You can then constrain piece types to place themselves in specific zones, depending on their analytical code Below is an example that shows that the "back" pieces must be centered while the "front" pieces are on the fabric edges + ⇒ Lectra.com 15/17 DIAMINOFASHION V6R1 Release Notes 3.2 Handling folded, tubular or double-ply fabrics • New piece constraints now allow you to handle these fabrics in automatic mode New options offer to position a "foldable" piece on the ply or full width ("foldable" constraint), Diamino V6R1 chooses the best solution for you, material savings being the objective Thanks to this new version of Diamino, the possibilities are more numerous Ex: In the case below, only the "Mfinfi (2)" and "back" pieces can be folded • Now you have the choice of maintaining the pairing between two pieces when pieces are rejected from the marker-making zone When saving the marker, this pairing can either be kept or deactivated Lectra.com 16/17 DIAMINOFASHION V6R1 Release Notes 3.3 Orientation groups In order to guarantee the quality of the garment, it is sometimes necessary to simultaneously give several pieces the same orientation value The example of a jacket with front and side patterns is a perfect illustration of this With this new version, you can now define a group and give several pieces the same symmetry and/or rotation behavior The rotation value then takes on the value of the piece most constrained This function is available for both interactive and automatic processing In the example above, if the "back" piece rotates 180°, the "front" piece will rotate by the same value NEW MATERIAL SAVINGS IN AUTOMATIC MODE Research efforts to optimize material savings are ongoing; this is a goal systematically set by Lectra In this major version, in addition to the new constraints, better calculation methods have allowed for increased material savings in relation to comparable data An average saving of 0.2% over a representative database was verified
