TRÖÔØNG THPT LỘC HƯNG UNIT 8: CELEBRATIONS Language focus PRONUNCIATION AIM: By the end of the lesson students will be able to : Distinguish the sounds /fl/, /fr/, /Өr/ Pronounce the words and sentences containing these sound clearly and correctly PRONUNCIATION T shows the pictures and ask students to write down the words under the pictures: three flood fridge flower flag frog fruit Divide the words into three columns and ask students to give similar examples /fl/ flag flood flower fly flu /fr/ fridge frog fruit fry frozen /Өr/ three threat through throw throat -Tell students to open their books and listen and repeat - Play the recording, tell students to pay attention and distinguish /fl/ /fr/ and /Өr/ - Ask students work in pairs and practise reading aloud this dialogue in their books T goes on around to listen & takes notes of the typical errors T calls on some pairs to read the dialogue again and provides corrective feedback GRAMMAR AND VOCABULARY AIM: By the end of the lesson students will be able to: - Know how to use the pronouns ONE (S), SOMEONE, ANYONE, NO ONE or EVERYONE - Understand and use some more words describing celebrations The teacher explain the use of the pronouns ONE (S), SOMEONE, ANYONE, NO ONE and EVERYONE - - - - One (s) is used to replace a noun and avoid repeating that noun in sentence Someone/ anyone/no one/ everyone + singular verb Someone and everyone are used in the affirmative sentences No one = not……any one Tell students to exercise 1, in the text book, p.98 T calls on some Ss to give the answers and provides corrective feedback Exercise 3: Ask the whole class to work orally and T provides corrective feedback HOMEWORK Make the sentences by using the following words related to lucky money, fireworks, pagoda, Tet : flower market , banh chung , relatives and friends, buffalo fighting ... pronouns ONE (S), SOMEONE, ANYONE, NO ONE or EVERYONE - Understand and use some more words describing celebrations The teacher explain the use of the pronouns ONE (S), SOMEONE, ANYONE, NO ONE and EVERYONE
