LIKE & PREFER Thích & Thích hơn 1/- LIKE (thích): được theo sau bởi một danh động từ (gerund) hoặc một động từ nguyên thể có “to” (ton inf) mà nghĩa của nó hầu như không đổi.             Ex:      I like drink coffee. I like to drink coffee. Notes: # Khi diễn tả một ý tốt nào đó (không phải là điều thích thú) thì chúng ta sử dụng “like + to inf”             Ex:      I didn’t like to complain. (I didn’t complain because it wasn’t a good idea)                         I didn’t like complaining. (I complained, but I didn’t enjoy it) 2/- PREFER (thích hơn)   …prefer noun + to + noun gerund 1 + to + gerund 2 to inf + rather than + bare inf               Ex:                  I prefer apples to bananas.                                     I prefer watching TV to reading books.                                     I prefer to watch TV rather than read books Note: Các cấu trúc tương đương             would rather bare inf + than + bare inf bare inf + O1 + than + O2 like noun + better than + noun gerund 1 + better than + gerund 2               Ex:                  Tom would rather read than talk.                                     Tom would rather read magazines than newspapers.                                     John likes beef better than chicken.                                     John likes reading better than talking.
