Greeting : ( Slide 1 ) – ( 0.5 seconds ) II. Warm up : ( Slide 2 - 3) – ( 5 minutes ) III. Lead- in : ( Slide 4 - 5 ) – ( 1 minute ) IV. Presentation : ( Slide 6 – 12 )_ ( 13 minutes ) V. Practice : ( Slide 13 – 15 )_ ( 14 minutes) VI. Production : ( Slide 16 – 25 ) – ( 10 minutes ) VII. Homework : ( Slide 25 ) – ( 1 minute) VIII. The end : ( Slide 26 ) – ( 0.5 seconds ) 2 PROCEDURE I. Greeting: ( Slide 1 ) II. Warm up : ( Slide 2-3 ) Word Square ( groupworks ) - Divide the class into two groups to find out some Prepositions and some Adjectives. - Score marks and check. III. Lead-in : ( Slide 4 - 5 ) Teacher’ s activities -Hold out a picture of smoking and ask: Is smoking useful or harmful ? Right! Smoking is harmful to our health. Harmful is an Adjective , To is a Preposition . So, after an Adjective we use a suitable Preposition . Today we’ re going to talk about Prepositions following Adjectives. Pupils’ activities - It’ s harmful IV. Presentation : ( Slide 6 – 12 ) A. Vocabulary: ( Slide 6 ) Teacher’ s activities - Remind the meaning and how to use the Adjectives by giving synonyms , examples , asking questions : Acceptable , Ahead , Confident , Available , Skilful , Acquainted , Confuse , Serious. Pupils’ activities - Answer the questions and write 3 B. Filling in the chart : ( Slide 7 – 9 ) Teacher’ s activities - Give an open chart with some gaps and some Adjectives and some Prepositons. (Slide 7 – 8 ) - Ask Ps to depend on the familiar Adjectives available in the chart to find out the correct provided Prepositions in each group, first ; then, look for the proper provided Adjectives for the Prepositions . For example , - Look at the first group . You often say :” English is very important ____ us “. - Right, the Preposition after important is to or the proper Preposition for this group is to and fill in the blank of Prepositions. - For the second , the third , the fourth group , the cued Adjectives are afraid , difficult , clever and Ps find out the proper Prepositions : of , for , at . - Give the same procedure to next chart (Slide 9 – 10 ) . The cued Adjectives and Prepositions are friendly , in , different , about . - Handouts ( Slide 11 ) Pupils’ activities - English is very important to us - Listen to Teacher’ s guide and do it C.
