The Japanese Style Wallpaper Pretty neat the Japanese style wallpaper don’t you think? Well - here’s how I made it! Ok - here we go. Start with creating a new document sized 1920×1200 pixels with all the default settings and add in a color of #96a0f9 to the background. Create a new one layer. Select Brush Tool and a soft round brush with size about 200 px. Make a couple of strokes, using different colors, for example #ff7afd, #4d57d2, #4ccaff and #bda2f3. Apply Filter > Blur > Gaussian Blur with the next presets: After that use Filter > Blur > Motion Blur with similar settings to these: We have something like this: Ok, merge all layers in one and apply one more Filter > Texture > Texturizer using the next presets: Now we have a relief like this: Time to add some Japanese patterns to the background. Ok, we can do this by using Japanese brushes. Feel free to download it from here. Now get out the Dodge Tool (Range: Hightlights, 30%) and do a little bit of dodge-work on the background. We should have an image like below: Ok, now I would like to add a couple of semi-transparent lines to type Japanese hieroglyph there. We can do this by using Pen Tool with the white color. Then duplicate layer and modify copied layer with Direct Selection Tool. Actually, you can change the color of the shape to see the difference. Make the same things two of times. Set fill opacity to 0% up for each of four shapes and apply the Drop Shadow and Inner Glow layer styles to each layer.
