By default, iMovie overlaps the ends of your clips to create smooth transitions from one clip to another. This shortens the length of your movie slightly. You can change this behavior. 1 Open the Project Properties dialog by clicking Set Theme in the transitions browser. 2 Click to automatically add transitions between clips ( changes to ). 3 Click Extend ends and maintain duration ( changes to ). 4 Click OK. iMovie maintains movie duration by using a freeze frame at the end of clips when creating a transition.
