Date of preparing:13/04/2010 Date of teaching:15-16/04/2010 UNIT 3: ON A PICNIC Lesson 5: Practice it! Sing it! I.Aim of the lesson: By the end of the lesson, ss will be able to ask and answer what foods and drinks they like. Ss can sing the I’m hungry song. II.Language focus: -Grammar: Do you like rice? Yes, I do/No, I don’t. III.Materials: real objects ( milk, juice, tea, candy, cake), some pictures, CD, the student book, activity book. IV.Skills: Listening and speaking. V.Procedure: Procedure Teacher’s activities Students’ activities Warm-up (5mins) -Greetings. Sing the I like juice song! -Hold up a candy/cake…ask ss Do you like rice?. Encourage them to answer Yes, I do / No I don’t. Have 2 Ss stand up, one asks, one answers. Greetings. Sing the song! Answer the T’s questions: Yes, I do / No I don’t. Two ss stand up, one asks, one answers. Presentation (10mins) -Introduce the lesson.Ask ss to open the book.Point to the picture of the rice/chicken. Have ss ask T: Do you like rice/chicken? Say Yes, I do/ No, I don’t.Then, draw a happy face under rice and an unhappy face under chicken. Open the book at page 27, look at the pictures. Ask T: Do you like rice? Do you like chicken? Controlled- practice (20mins) -Guide ss to fill in the spaces for Me according to their likes or dislikes. -Have ss work in groups of 3, ask and answer each other’s questions. Let them draw the appropriate faces in the spaces for Friend 1,2. -Go around and check Ss’s progress. Fill in the spaces for Me according to their likes or dislikes. Work in groups of 3, ask and answer each other’s questions: Do you like rice/chicken/milk/cake/juice? Draw the appropriate faces in the spaces for Friend 1,2. Feed-back (7mins) -Have a student go to the front of the class, hold each item of food and drink. Have the other ss ask him/her with each item. That student answers: Yes, I do/ No, I don’t. A student go to the front of the class, hold each item of food and drink. The other ss ask him/her: Do you like rice/cake…? Further- practice (15mins) -Play CD track A56.Have ss listen and point to the pictures when they hear the words in the song. -Play CD again.Have ss sing along. *Guide ss to do exercises in the work book: Give each student a photo of exercise - Practice it!. -A: Listen. Find. Number. Have ss guess the situations in the picture. Play CD track A27. Let ss listen and number (3 times). Play CD again and check Ss’ answers -B: Find. Circle. Draw a line. Have ss look at the items and ask them find the correct words and draw a line. Go around and check ss’ answers. Listen and point to the pictures when they hear the words in the song. Sing along with the CD. Look at the picture guess the situations. Do the exercise in the work book Listen, find and number Give their answers. Look at the items in the page, find the correct words and draw a line. Check each other’s answers Homework (3mins) *Give each student a photo of exercise - What is it? Color the picture (at page 70- Activity).Guide ss to color number 3 purple. Listen and coppy down.
