Objectives: By the end of the lesson, students will be able to - Reading a text about the world’s great rivers and mountains to skim for details - Get further practice in using comparatives and superlatives. II. Language content: Vocabulary: flow to North Africa Mediterranean Sea Structures It starts in China and flows to the Gulf of Tonkin III. Teaching aids: Cassette player, textbook, lesson plan, extra board VI. Procedures: 1. Warm - up: Teacher’s activities Students’ activities Content - divide class into two groups and have them play game “Network” about natural features of Vietnam - play game rivers lakes hills Beaches mountains seas 2. Pre - reading: - have students tell some natural features of Vietnam and the world. - play the tape three times. - explain the new words and the structures. - show the extra board and have student guess T/F - retell - listen to the tape. - copy in the book. - work in pairs. - Red river, Mekong rivers, Nile, river. Mountains, lakes, hills, Phanxipang, Mount Everest mountain New words: - flow to (v): chaûy - North Africa: Baéc Phi - Mediterranean Sea: bieån ñòa trung haûi - start (v): baéc ñaàu Extra board: 1.
