Scholes was born at Hope Hospital in Salford, Greater Manchester. Scholes attended the St Mary's RC Primary School in Langley. He excelled in both cricket and football in school. At age 14, Scholes began training with Manchester United. He then later joined as a trainee during the summer of 1991 Early years
Club career Scholes became a professional player on 23 July 1993. His debut came on 21 September 1994, where he scored both goals in a 2–1 victory over Port Vale in the Football League Cup. Scholes has made 686 appearances for United, the fourth highest number of appearances by any player for the club. For 18 years, he has scored 152 goals for Manchester United, the tenth on best score list.
Season 1998-1999, Scholes was a key part in Manchester United's Treble- winning (including FA Cup, FA Premier League and UEFA Champion League). Club career In his own career, he won ten Premier League, three FA Cup, two UEFA Champion League medals and FIFA Club World Cup with Manchester United.
Scholes made his international debut against South Africa in 1997, and was included in the England squad for the 1998 World Cup.
