Aim - get Ss to practice in making plans using tourist brochures and flight information. - The past progressive tense II. Procedure T Activities of T and Ss Main knowledge 5’ 10’ 10’ * Warm-up: Chatting - Do you like traveling? - What do you want to know before you visit a place? - introduces the lesson. 1.pre-speaking: a)Act.1: Complete the Grids (P.113). *)Answer: - hangs on the Grid and checks the understanding of each item. - asks Ss to share their ideas in groups, reading the itinerary and completing the information. - get the meaning of each item and discover the task. - share their ideas in groups to complete the information. 2.while-speaking a)Act.1: Make the similar dialogue - elicits the language from Ss and then writes the model on the board. - elicits the used language and notices Ss the way to ask about time, place for living. - makes the model first and asks Ss to * Complete the Grids Depart Los Angeles: Flight 835 at 10.00 on Monday. What were they doing at 10.30? -They were playing tennis * Usages: - It expresses am action happing at a certain time - It is used to indicate that a longer action in the past was interrupted. The interruption is usually a shorter action in the Simple Past. Ex: I was watching TV when she called - it expresses the idea that both actions were happening at the same time. e.x: I was studying while he was 5’ 5’ tense and do the exercise Exercise: Put the verbs into the past progressive tense 1. At 3o’clock they…… (wash) some clothes making dinner. - The Past Continuous with words such as "always" or "constantly" expresses the idea that something irritating or shocking often happened in the past.
